Prairie dogs and funny little creatures; their name comes from their habitat as well as their warning call. These ones are larger than what I would usually see in the wild in Calgary. They are called Black-tailed prairie dogs and tend to have a much chubbier appearance compared to the small Utah variety that I see in the wild.
Its the type of animal I wish I could take home. These little furry creatures are usually about 12 to 16 inches long. They live in mounds that they make, which can also be home to many other types of animals.
