Surprisingly, the more these birds are studied, the more interesting and complex they become! For example, you might be surprised to learn that chicken eggs are usually the same color as their earlobes, or that there are currently more chickens on the planet than people. This blog is where I get to share with you a variety of breeds that will pique anyone's interest.
Starting with the world's rarest breeds; 'The Dong Tao' chicken of which there are just a few hundred. They are a rather unique breed of chicken, as they are solely found in Vietnam and are bred there.

Originally a fighting breed, they are of average size, weighing 3–4 kilos for a rooster and 2.5–3 kilos for a hen. Their fat ugly legs are their defining trait.
"Silkie chickens" is the name given to another old breed. They are stunning birds with a long history and a few unique characteristics. Because their feathers aren't interlocked, they resemble fur or wool.

These odd birds' heads are completely covered by a fur hat that also covers their eyes! Silky chickens have five toes instead of the four that other chickens have.

They are ornamental creatures because they can only deposit 80 eggs per year and rarely weigh more than 1.5 kilograms. Perhaps this is why their primary goal is to adorn the estate, which they have done for quite some time. The first written mention of this breed can be found in Aristotle's works, where they are described as chickens with strange cat-like hair, which some breeders choose to cut.
The next one may truly be described as a natural wonder! I'm referring to Israeli Bald chickens. Professor Avigdor Cahaner created them specifically for the Israeli heat, explaining in his research that hens have no purpose for their plumage in the Israeli heat. He was eventually able to turn off the undesired gene after twenty-five years of diligent investigation.

Of course, bald hens with reddish skin are unlikely to be used to decorate a chicken coop; nonetheless, they do have a distinct appearance. The alleged meat breed isn't widely available at the moment, and some breeders are leery of them, while conservationists oppose such trials on birds.
The Ayam Cemani, which translates to "black rooster," is another unusual chicken breed. All of these birds are entirely black, just like their name suggests! Their crests, beaks, paws, and eyes are all black. Their bones, meat, and blood are all black, which adds to the fun! I'm sure they don't taste black though!

The Ayam Cemani chickens are a rare breed of chicken that hails from the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Apart from their striking hue, the Iman tsunami chickens , their limited egg output and modest weight (about 1.5 kg) is fascinating and makes the breed extremely unusual! They are only retained by those who enjoy the strangeAfter all, a black-clothed rooster scrolling through the court yard can't help but pique people's interest.
The incredible, uncommon, and exotic Phoenix chickens are the next breed! The extraordinarily long tails of these oriental birds are what distinguishes them. It can grow to a maximum length of 3 meters, with the restless breeders continually working on it. A rooster with an 11-metre tail has already been bred at this point!
Phoenix chickens are said to have originated in the far east and play a role in Chinese and Japanese mythology. Long-tailed birds are prized there since it is thought that these magnificent roosters once roamed the imperial palaces. Having a long-tailed bird at home has long been thought to bring good fortune. It should however come as no surprise that keeping this decorative breed in your home is difficult. In Japan, it is still illegal to sell Phoenix roosters, and it is also illegal to kill this sacred bird.
