Greetings friends of #amazingnature, today I want to share with you how I found this cute millipede that I found while cleaning the chimney, I thought it was very cute, . I decided to take it and place it in a tree to take some pictures of it.
This is a yellow-banded millipede or bumblebee. They are usually found in damp and dark places, their food is mainly the buds of some plants. The size of these millipedes is approximately 2.5 to 3 cm. They can grow from 1.27 to 5.08 cm long.
This millipede is identified by having a worm-like body with a rigid millipede carapace and multiple rounded segments with two pairs of short legs on each. Within these species, some exceed 6 1/2 inches (16.51 cm). They are usually brown in color, move very slowly and curl up when disturbed, their way of defending themselves from predators. They can be distinguished from centipedes that have only one pair of legs per segment and move away very quickly when disturbed.
They can grow from 1.27 to 5.08 cm long.
Saludos amigos de #amazingnature, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes como encontré este simpático milpiés que encontré mientras limpiaba la chimenea, me pareció muy lindo, . Decidí cogerlo y colocarlo en un árbol para hacerle unas fotos.
Se trata de un milpiés de banda amarilla o abejorro. Normalmente se encuentran en lugares húmedos y oscuros, su alimento son principalmente los brotes de algunas plantas. Las medidas de estos milpiés son aproximadamente de 2,5 a 3 cm. Pueden crecer de 1,27 a 5,08 cm de largo.
Este milpiés se identifica por tener un cuerpo similar al de un gusano con un caparazón rígido de milpiés y múltiples segmentos redondeados con dos pares de patas cortas en cada uno. Dentro de estas especies, algunas superan las 6 1/2 pulgadas (16,51 cm). Suelen ser de color marrón, se mueven muy lentamente y se enroscan cuando se les molesta, su forma de defenderse de los depredadores. Pueden distinguirse de los ciempiés que sólo tienen un par de patas por segmento y se alejan muy rápidamente cuando se les molesta.
Pueden crecer de 1,27 a 5,08 cm de largo.
Commonly this millipede is found in places where there are plant debris, leaf litter, tree sand, soil mulch. There are animals in captivity, such as monkeys, that use this millipede as an insect repellent, crushing it and then applying the properties it releases on their bodies. Nature gives us great moments and every day surprises me with its environment.
Comúnmente este milpiés se encuentra en lugares donde hay restos de plantas, hojarasca, arena de árboles, mantillo del suelo. Hay animales en cautividad, como los monos, que utilizan este milpiés como repelente de insectos, aplastándolo y aplicando luego las propiedades que libera sobre su cuerpo. La naturaleza nos regala grandes momentos y cada día me sorprende con su entorno.
