Hola amigos de Hive y amantes de la Naturaleza, hoy les quiero hablar sobre un grupo ambientalista dedicado a la educación ambiental y del cual formo parte desde ya hace un tiempo: El Grupo Guardaparques Universitarios.

Guardaparques Universitarios nace gracias a un grupo de jóvenes estudiantes de Medicina Veterinaria de la Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado (UCLA), quienes durante sus pasantías de estudios clínicos y manejo de la fauna silvestre dentro de las instalaciones del Parque Zoológico y Botánico Bararida, encontraron una oportunidad para crear un grupo de voluntariado dentro del este en Pro del Naturaleza.

Guardaparques Universitarios was born thanks to a group of young students of Veterinary Medicine of the Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado (UCLA), who during their internships of clinical studies and wildlife management within the facilities of the Barararida Zoo and Botanical Park, found an opportunity to create a volunteer group within the park in favor of nature.

Es así como el 28 de Febrero de 1996 se funda el grupo ambientalista llamado Guardaparques Universitarios, en principio era una herramienta para motivar cambios de conducta en los visitantes del zoológico a favor del ambiente, pero con el pasar de los años este voluntariado dirige sus líneas de acción hacia la educación ambiental no formal tanto a nivel regional como nacional, contando con profesionales y estudiantes de diferentes niveles educativos y diversas especialidades.

Thus, on February 28, 1996 the environmental group called Guardaparques Universitarios was founded, initially as a tool to motivate behavioral changes in zoo visitors in favor of the environment, but over the years this volunteer group has directed its lines of action towards non-formal environmental education both regionally and nationally, with professionals and students from different educational levels and various specialties.

Pero no solo de Educación Ambiental se trata, también manejo y cuidados de fauna silvestre, investigación, reproducción, conservación y todo lo relacionado a preservar el medio ambiente; Además, tenemos un ideal bastante definido: "Luchar por el respeto a la vida como única vía para la preservación del ambiente" por lo cual se capacita y forma a nuevos integrantes en temas ambientales, su cuidado y amor por la Naturaleza.

But it is not only about environmental education, but also about wildlife management and care, research, reproduction, conservation and everything related to preserving the environment; we also have a well defined ideal: "To fight for the respect for life as the only way to preserve the environment " for which we train and educate new members in environmental issues, their care and love for Nature.
