The temperatures had really dropped leaving a layer of frost on the landscape, which although chilly adds it's own certain beauty.
Early Morning Frost on the Bull Rushes and Grasses
Even though the night time temperatures had bought frost to the ground and plants, the water still held it's heat from the previous day releasing it as mist in the chill of the morning.

Later in the day I went to visit the pond that had loads of ducks on it to see if there was still some there.
Sky and Trees Reflected in the Duck Pond
There was on area that had some shallower water which was busy with ducks, some feeding and some coming to the sand bar to rest.

These groups of ducks consisted mostly of mallards (which I hadn't seen here previously) but it looked like a female pintail swimming in front of this group of ducks.

The ducks were funny to watch flipping upside down feeding - watch them below. They must have been having a good time for you could hear them occasionally cheerfully quacking.

What makes this such an appealing area for the ducks is that it is a flooded area with lots of vegetation submerged for feeding on and also some higher spots of land surrounded by water for resting safely on.

Looking another direction on the pond, with the beautiful scenery, I noticed another group of ducks in the distance. It was a family of bufflehead ducks swimming along and others diving under the water feeding.

There was another lone duck swimming by the buffleheads which I think may have been a female canvasback duck.

As I was leaving the pond, just as the sun was beginning to set adding a touch of pink to the clouds, a flock of ducks flew overhead.

Gorgeous morning out in the mist, bottom up feeding really a giggle to watch them all upside down. Have a wonderful day, thanks for sharing.
The seasonal changes are one of the things I miss from the latitudes. This post is a good example of what I miss at times, especially when I am sweating buckets in the tropics as I read this. I haven't heard ducks quacking in ages.
Happy I can take you into another season if only for a few moments and in your mind!
That is something I'm not accustom too - being real hot although when it's 30 below Celsius my mind starts to wander living in warmer climates!
