Wednesday Walk - Fur Buddies Playing in Snow...

in Amazing Nature2 years ago

We're having some mild weather again but the only precipitation we've had has been in the form of snow so we still have lots of snow around.

The warm weather entices JJ out and he's checking out all the scents from things newly released from the snow.

JJ was quite adventuresome and checked out the snowy path to the well house - his old stomping ground.

And of course he had to clean the snow off his toes when he came back out onto the lane.

It wasn't long before JJ headed back to find himself a dry spot. Meanwhile Bruno is out enjoying the snow.

This next photo it looks like Bruno is almost standing on his head but he was just leaping off the snowbank. We had some fresh snow which was good for the lane was getting a bit icy and this covered it up.

We have a squirrel who is now claiming our yard by the bird feeder as his territory. He was in a tree when we came back from the walk and just seemed ticked off at us that he didn't have his clear run to the feeder, He had climbed down the tree right close to me but uncertain he would dart up again, at one point he even started chattering at us hoping we would go away. This went on for quite awhile then finally I just let him be and headed to the house. I got some great close ups of the cutie!

Up on the treetop there was a bluejay surveying the yard.

In the early morning after the fresh snow the bluejay was tucked in closer to the tree trunk checking us out.

At the feeder the bluejay and the woodpecker had arrived at the feeder at the same time. Most of the time they can both eat from the feeder at the same time if they stick to different sides.

Off on our walk up the hill I spotted a black backed woodpecker. I had never seen one of those before. It was busy working the poplar trees for bugs under the bark.

And in the poplar trees was the remains of the nest of the paper wasps with the insides exposed.

Back safe at home JJ had curled up into a box and was snoozing after his big adventure.

Beautiful adventure of animals all are very beautiful, it will be because I love animals are so cute and cuddly. The photos are good you do a good job. I like the snow I have never had the opportunity to be in a snowy place but I imagine it must feel good.

I really enjoy my fur buddies and the snow makes for a beautiful winter wonderland but we have very long winters here - 6 months so by this time of year we are pretty tired of the snow!

Wow, if that's how you say it is, I understand you. I would not like to be in such a cold place, yes I like the snow but not the cold. Greetings .

A beautiful walk which JJ and Bruno seemed to enjoy and watched by some other critters and birds

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

I love the way you write your adventures with JJ and Bruno, they look comfortable in that environment and JJ is very smart. The amount of snow on the roof of the house is incredible.

Thank you for entering the competition.
Looks like you'll have to wait a while for spring :-)

Cool about the black backed woodpecker. Glad it's more spring like up there!
