We've moved into more Summer like weather these days and our last shower made everything lush and green with the berry blossoms popping out all over the place. With those blossoms all sorts of pollinators have come to get some nectar. Our bushes are just buzzing!
Off For a Walk Among the Lush Green Grass and Yellow Dandelions
So what do you do in all that lush green grass? You roll in it of course!

I was standing among the chokecherry bushes and could hear the buzzing. I tried to capture it in video but it came out pretty faint. You can see a sampling of the pollinators working the chokecherry blossoms though...
Here's some closeups of some of those pollinators -

The chokecherry blossoms attracted the pollinators and with that mass of them together it attracted the predators.

Over at the water sitting by the edge of our lane there were more pollinators buzzing around the marsh marigolds - listen in...
There was a good hatch of damselflies along with the dragonflies. I'm always so happy to see them for they eat mosquitoes, keeping the numbers down.

JJ was on alert in this area too. I think he spotted a frog for there were lots of them jumping around - another creature that eats mosquitoes - yeah!

A little sparrow was busy near by gathering some material for it's nest.

We headed back into the bush behind our place to get some more beaver felled wood and toured another pond back there. The water levels were way up with all the wet years we had. This killed off a lot of trees that had grown up around it but it made for great habitat for the ducks.

Out by the beaver pond were a pair of loons. I love their haunting call which I hear often but this time I just saw them swimming.

In another part of the pond there was a pair of Golden eye ducks - look at that male's golden eye!

I did get photos of some of the other waterfowl there but they were a bit blurry as most of them were off in the distance. I'm sharing them with you anyway just so you can get a sampling of the waterfowl at this pond.

Across the trail from the pond I went hiking around and found the bear berries in bloom and an interesting lichen.

I'll leave you with an interesting cloud formation we viewed near the end of the day. There was an illuminated cloud sandwiched between two dark rain clouds.
