The recent visit to an old friend in the outside of the city, to bring him some supplies, gave us the opportunity to breathe fresh air, to rejoice in a simple country atmosphere with cheerful and intense colours, and to admire some beautiful flowers that stood out in his neighbour's garden, as if illuminated by a spotlight.
La reciente visita a un viejo amigo en las afuera de la ciudad, para llevarle algunos suministros, nos dio la oportunidad de respirar aire fresco, regocijarnos en un ambiente campestre sencillo con alegres e intensos colores, y admirar unas preciosas flores que destacaban en el jardín de su vecino, como iluminadas por un foco de luz.
Su espectacular belleza e impecable color blanco me enamoró, fue amor a primera vista, y por esta razón tome las fotos que comparto en este post, e investigue las características botánicas más importantes de esta bella planta como una hermosa expresión de la naturaleza
Its scientific name is Plumeria Pudica, it belongs to the Apocynaceae family.
Su nombre científico es Plumeria Pudica , pertenece a la familia Apocynaceae.
In the genus Plumeria we also find Plumeria Obtusa, Plumeria Rubra, Plumeria Alba, Plumeria Stenophylla, all of them very appreciated for their beautiful flowers that have the most diverse uses, ornamental, religious, cultural and medicinal.
En el género Plumeria también se encuentran la Plumeria Obtusa, Plumeria Rubra, Plumeria Alba, Plumeria Stenophylla todas ellas muy apreciadas por sus hermosas flores que tienen los más diversos usos, ornamentales, religiosos, culturales y medicinales.
Because of its candorous and intense white colour, it was given the name “pudica” for the Spanish meaning of this word "probity and purity", related to this colour, and “Plumier” for Charles Plumier, a missionary who studied a wide variety of plant species in the 16th century.
Por su candoroso e intenso color blanco se le asignó el nombre “pudica” por el significado en español de esta palabra “ “probidad y pureza” ”, relacionado a este color, y “Plumier” por Charles Plumier, misionero que estudio una amplia variedad especies vegetales en el siglo XVI.
Popularmente se le conoce como alheli, plumeria blanca, jazmín indio entre otros.

En el centro de las flores destacan unas ligeras pinceladas amarillas como tenues y rayos de sol que acarician y unen los pétalos.

And its elongated leaves are part of this artistic work, offering an interesting contrast of colours to the intense white of the flowers, with its dark and bright green, giving it a more eye-catching appearance.

Con relación al cuidado de esta planta es sencillo, riego moderado, el exceso agua la afecta, e incidencia solar directa.
Although plumeria is native to South America, it is distributed throughout the world, with its abundant and extensive cultivation in India standing out for religious and medicinal reasons.
La plumeria aun cuando es originaria de Suramérica, se encuentra distribuida por todo el mundo, destacando su abundante y extenso cultivo en la India por razones religiosas y medicinales.
En este sentido, Shinde, Patil, Bairagi (2014) señalan que ha sido empleada para diversos fines medicinales desde épocas remotas por los indios y actualmente se han realizan investigaciones de sus propiedades farmacológicas y fotoquímica para ser utilizada más ampliamente, representando potencialmente una beneficiosa opción para la medicina.
Para finalizar, me llevo la imagen de esta hermosa planta con sus impecables flores blancas y hojas verde intenso, como un hermoso regalo de alegría, relajación y bienestar en este día, y también de admiración y gratitud con la naturaleza por todo lo que espléndidamente nos ofrece.
