Mauritius Island | Mega Nature FHD video Post - Ultimate Island Tour

in Amazing Nature2 years ago (edited)

I love taking photos but I love making videos more. And I love to shoot what I see and transmit it to viewers for a far better experience than photos.

Since I have been recording and editing, I have made several nature videos when I hang out in the forests, hiking and visit nature parks.

If you have seen Mauritius lands on the internet or read about the Island, these videos will bring you a closer immersive dimension far beyond what the fancy hotels shows you. This video is really behind the scenes of the true Fauna of Mauritius Island. Buckle up and let's start!

Eau Bleu

Lets start a quick visit at Eau Blue to check out how blue the water is. The place actually consists of several water falls at [//]:# (!pinmapple -20.348839 lat 57.602119 long eau bleu d3scr).

The place offers very beautiful hikes around the Reservoir. A new Government Act has been published and we have restricted access to these places. I will probably make another longer video of the place and hopefully don't get caught.

Trekking at Mare Longue Reservoir

Location: [//]:# (!pinmapple -20.379732 lat 57.459313 long reservoir d3scr)

This is one of my favorite trekking. This long trail takes you along ridges with views of the gorges and around the banks of Mare Longue Reservoir. The trail forms a 5 miles loop which lasts around 4-5 hours trekking. The hike begins at the Petrin entrance to the Park and there are signs everywhere so that you don't get lost.

Le Pouce (The Thumb) Mountain Hike

  • Pieter Both
  • Moka Range
  • Port Louis
  • Champ de Mars
  • Central Plateau
  • Paille en Queue sighting
  • Brutal winds
  • Found a #2 marked on a guava

Location: [//]:# (!pinmapple -20.197471 lat 57.528882 long le pouce d3scr)

This is it, we cannot go hiking anymore at Le Pouce. The Government just issued a new act which prohibits any hiking at the mountain. We don't really know the motive behind this but in my opinion, it's about the huge crowds dumping stuffs while hiking there and Covid concerns. The hike at Le Pouce is around 4.5KM which connects to the capital of Mauritius: Port Louis. Enough talk, enjoy the video.

South bound Road Trip with my Friends

The journey was really long, so I had to split this into 3 videos. I myself don't know the locations but it is in the South of the Island in the cane fields. Have a look at the beautiful landscapes and nature:

  • Offroad (total abuse)
  • Field drive
  • White Rock
  • Solar energy farm
  • Vol au Vent (panorama)
  • Sugarcane harvest
  • Mountains
  • Trees silhouettes
  • Tree alley
  • Beautiful landscape

  • Trees alley
  • Fields drive and tires abuse
  • Dirt trails
  • Field patterns
  • Heavy machinery
  • More heavy machines
  • Landscape and horizon
  • Bassins and ponds
  • Mountains
  • Mills and smoke

Last clip of this super cool project!

Ended the trip on the beach to catch the last golden hour sunlight and some cool shots & some beach offroad.

Piton de La Petite Riviere Noire

  • Piton de la Petire Rivière Noire
  • Goyages de Chine <--- These are delicious!
  • Wide 360 view
  • Close up b-rolls: mushrooms and greens
  • Waterfalls
  • Bay view
  • Confused monkey

Location: [//]:# (!pinmapple -20.390902 lat 57.472825 long piton d3scr)

Piton is the highest peak of the Island with an elevation of 828M. The trail is very well shaded. See the video description for more information.

Quad Biking with my Friends

The video speaks for itself.

Explore Mauritius with me at Gris Gris

This is probably my best nature video I made so far. The video is just filled with eye pleasing scenery. Goodbye 2021 and I am so stoked for Xmas! 2021 has been awesome for me! Spoiler: Surprises in the video for epicness far from the usual static photos. Buckle up and let us take you for a ride southbound the island at GrisGris. Super cool video and good shots around the island. Most of you has seen short clips and photos of the area there: the natural pool, the waterfall, the lake and etc... This video takes a new dimension into exploring the island. Enjoy! The editing process was just too much fun and looking forward into producing more of these with my peers. Super grateful!

Sunset at the Mountains near the Motorway

This video I recently got a drone from my friend and I tried a few shots. This was shot in 2021 and this is the last sunset of that year. I hope you enjoy the shots.

Cucumber Greenhouse

Look at the work of art on how these are grown. It's full blast summer in Mauritius Island and some cool people gave me the opportunity to do a quick tour at one of their greenhouses. Right off and it really shocked me, the heat is intense inside the greenhouse but it looks so refreshing on video. I shoot for < 40mins and I was sweating profusely. An absolute work of art and dedication to have the place this neat and producing cucumbers 100% bio. The plants get a constant water and nutrients supply every 30-60minutes controlled by synchronized timers and water pumps. The plants look great and I hope the Green thumbs of hive enjoy this video <

Sophie Nature park

Location: [//]:# (!pinmapple -20.377206 lat 57.485106 long d3scr)

Sophie Nature Walk has a series of trails through the endemic garden near the visitor’s center before setting out on a longer walk through the woods that will take you to the shores of Mare Aux Vacoas reservoir. There is quite a bit of information on the flowers and plants of the area at the visitor center, as well as information on the trails. The trails are shaded and easy to follow.

Sophie Nature Walk is situated in the Mare-aux-Vacoas region. It comprises a Visitor Interpretation Centre, a Museum, a Trail of length 1.8 km, Kiosks, Tables & Benches, Picnic Areas and a Parking Area. Many rare native/endemic plants have been planted in the Nature Walk. Some 10,000 people, both local & tourist, visit the Nature Walk annually. The entrance is free. It is opened to the public as from 08.00 hrs to 15.00 hrs during weekdays and 09.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs on public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Pieter Both

Location: [//]:# (!pinmapple -20.192248 lat 57.555190 long d3scr)

Short portrait video with some tech drone editing tricks footages I recently made. This is the second highest mountain of Mauritius, at 820 metres (2,690 ft) tall. It is named after Pieter Both, the first Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies. The view looks beautiful at sunset near the mountain range.

The notable feature of this mountain is the gigantic rock formation at the very top of it, which resembles a human head. The first ascent of Pieter Both was by Captain Lloyd, Lieutenant Phillpotts, of the 29th Reg., Lieutenant Keppel, R.N., and Lieutenant Taylor on 7 September 1832.

To climb the mountain following the main ridge takes about an hour, and is mildly difficult. It is mainly a scramble, and being exposed, a rope is advised. The dramatic boulder on the pinnacle is about nine metres in diameter, and has several iron spikes fixed to it to aid climbing to the top. The top is flat and about two metres across.

Closure

If you made it here, thank you very much. I put a lot of effort into producing these and I am very happy to share these with you and show you my beautiful island from my camera lenses.

Let me know in the comments and see you soon!
