I love light rain showers!
What a treat it was to be able to witness a magnificent rainbow over my house (on the left)and be able to take photos and share it with you!
It fascinates me each and every time when I see the beautiful colors of light in the sky when rays of the sun hit the falling raindrops.
Seeing a rainbow always reminds of the time when as a kid I asked my Dad why rainbows are arched. He told me that rainbows are that way because raindrops that reflect the sunlight are curved.
Rainbows occur when the sun begins to shine while the air is still filled with raindrops.
The colors of the rainbow are in stripes of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Oftentimes the blue color fades out.
This rainbow appear to have my favorite color: pink! The red is almost always seen. Sometimes two rainbows can be seen, like today. Do you see it? It is to the left of the bright rainbow!
A rainbow is really a circle and has no beginning or end.
It has happened only once in my entire life when I was on an airplane descending in the airport of Hawaii... the other passengers and I saw a striking rainbow in a complete circle. It was an awesome sight!
The bottom half of this rainbow (and the many rainbows we see) is hidden because it is below the horizon.
I have to admit that I never outgrew the idea that rainbows are magical bridges across the sky full of colors.
One of these days my tiny yorkie will cross that rainbow bridge, and it pains me to think of that day. Her vet told me that the normal life expectancy of toy dogs is 15 years. MySweetPea is 14 years old this year. If she does cross the Rainbow Bridge, I will be imagining her waiting for me at the end of every rainbow that I will see.

The Origin of the Pot of Gold
The most well-known origin story of the leprechaun’s pot of gold at the end of the rainbow involves a couple of poor farmers in Ireland. When this husband and wife pulled their very last carrot out of their garden, they found a leprechaun dangling from the roots. Being captured, the leprechaun promised one wish in exchange for his freedom.
The husband and wife could not decide on just a single wish, so they began wishing for everything—new tools, a house, jewelry—and the list continued until the leprechaun interrupted them. Dismayed by their greed, the leprechaun told the couple they might have all they wished for and more if they could find his pot of gold hidden at the end of the rainbow. The leprechaun winked and left the farmers to chase rainbows forever, looking for a fictitious fortune.
And that's where/how 'a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow' came from. 😀

Our little Troy is now 16 years old my friend and although he is starting to battle to see, he is still going strong and at my feet at all times when we are at home.
