Sunday's walk with the dogs resulted an unusual encounter: a bee that, at first glance, seemed to be sleeping on a flower. She was lying in a curious sideways position and for a few seconds I also thought she was not alive.
I had never even stopped to think that bees slept, but the scene obviously caught my attention. After getting very close and watching for a few seconds, I think I ended up disturbing the lady bee, who got up and started using her little legs to walk around the petals, pistils, and small branches.
I took the images below and didn't have time to take many more, as two anxious little monsters were rushing me to continue the walk through the park.

Now that is a lot of yellow. Such a lovely scene, that bee must have been enjoying some relaxation. We cannot expect them to work 24/7 😜

It is interesting to see her sleeping, she can sleep for about 30 minutes, let's say it is her energy saving mechanism! interesting species!

Our own bees are not very happy... the Hive just doesn't seem to be able to lift itself from the ground. Must be sticky with all the honey. 🤭
