Wet season 2023 in the Kimberley, Western Australia.
Each year the Kimberley region sees monsoonal rains in the summer months. After spending half my lifetime in Australia's north we were well and truly prepared to get wet. However, this season brought to the region hundreds of millimetres of rain. This widespread deluge of rain created major flooding, wiping out entire community's, hundreds of kilometres of roads and bridges. Thousands of cattle and other livestock destroyed. It was sad to see so much destruction, however, the beauty that comes after such floods subside, and the fun that is had in the abundant rains, brings a lot of joy into our lives. These are just a few photos of the aftermath of the rains.
