I declare myself a fan of individual tablecloths, I think that soon I will have a small collection, for days I wanted to make one and I was inspired by a lycra fabric with an apple and strawberry print with which I made a swimsuit a while ago. It seemed like a good idea to make a big, very cheerful colorful apple, although it is not a tropical fruit with these colors it will look like it is native to my beautiful Isla de Margarita and ready to put a refreshing drink since it is very hot.

Me declaro fanática de los manteles individuales, creo que pronto voy a tener una pequeña colección, hace días que quería elaborar uno y me inspiró una tela de lycra con estampado de manzanas y fresas con la que hace un tiempo realicé un traje de baño, me pareció buena idea hacer una gran manzana colorida muy alegre, aunque no es una fruta tropical con estos colores lucirá como nativa de mi bella Isla de Margarita y lista para colocar alguna bebida refrescante ya que está haciendo mucho calor.

🍎 The first thing I did to start this project was to look in my patchwork chest and, I'm glad I got a good piece of denim, the tablecloth ended up measuring 30 cm high x 42 cm high long after I made a little hem in it. I had planned to put a zigzag lace on it to decorate the outline but I couldn't get the color I wanted, so I decided to make it a decorative apple green seam to make it contrast.

🍎 Lo primero que hice para comenzar este proyecto fue buscar en mi baúl de retales y, me alegra haber conseguido una buena pieza de mezclilla, el mantel terminó midiendo 30 cm de alto x 42 cm de largo, luego que le hice un pequeño dobladillo. Tenía planificado colocarle un encaje zigzag para decorar el contorno pero no conseguí el color que quería, entonces me decidí en hacerle una costura decorativa en verde manzana para que hiciera contraste.

🍎 I transferred the pattern to the fabrics, the body of the apple with the fruit lycra, in brown felt the stem and the leaves in different shades of green.

🍎 Transferí el patrón a las telas, el cuerpo de la manzana con la lycra de frutas, en fieltro marrón el tallo y las hojas en diferentes tonos de verde.

🍎 On the back, I placed the interfacing as the fabrics have elasticity, this will prevent them from stretching and will make the sewing process easier.

🍎 Por la parte posterior le coloqué la entretela como las telas tienen elasticidad, esto impedirá que estiren y hará más fácil el proceso de costura.

🍎 The first piece of the apple that I sewed was the sheet to join the two colors with a straight stitch.

🍎 La primera pieza de la manzana que cosí, fue la hoja para unir los dos colores con costura recta.

🍎 First I had thought to sew each piece with thread of its respective color, but the stem was going to be lost since it would not be noticeable due to the dark brown color so I decided to use the same green as the outline of the tablecloth.

🍎 Primero había pensado coser cada pieza con hilo de su respectivo color, pero el tallo se iba a perder ya que no se notaría debido al color marrón oscuro entonces me decidí por usar el mismo verde del contorno del mantel.
