Happy Monday hivers and thread lovers, today is the special day of @needleworkmonday, a wonderful community where every day you can find motivation, inspiration, great works and people who love thread and needles like you, like me. Today, I bring you an even simpler project, which I never thought of doing, but as many know my brother is one of my biggest motivators who drives me out of my comfort zone. He is a chef, he loves cooking and has been practicing it since he was about 8 years old, he is currently fulfilling a dream of which he asked me to make him a knife holder. It is quite simple, but as everything has its work, I invite you to enjoy the step by step and dare to make one for yourself or as a gift.

You need: scissors, 60 cm of hard, resistant fabric, you can also use a padded bottom, threads, the size of the confidence knife, chalk, 5 cm of elastic and a button; the size depends on the number of tools you want to store, the traditional indicates about 2 spaces of the main tool and 3 smaller ones, it can be to store scissors, tweezers, table knives. Then cut out 3 rectangles, the largest one for the base, one that measures half and another one quarter of the base.

Now proceed to join the pieces, facing the right sides, so that the seams are on the inside, making it easier to sew the borders. Then, we mark the divisions where the tools will go, we proceed to sew defining the pockets, as you can see in the image. Finally, roll up to mark where to place the button and the elastic that will hold the final work, secure it with a firm stitching and your knife holder is ready, which also works to store your sewing tools. It's a really simple, basic sewing project for beginners too.

Did you see the serial "Dexter"... since I saw it all knife bags remind me of him 🤣 Lovely work and the fabric you used looks interesting, it seems to be a mix of leather and fleece? Was it hard to sew? My 3 knifes fly around in one cupboard and I only use one of them, so I guess I do not need a knife bag. But your design would also be nice for other tools like scissors or pencils <3

Yeeeees, I watched it, and I love it. Well you are right about the fabric, it is part of winter jacket, you know giving a second chance. Thanks for coming.

winter jacket!!! I never thought of this, but you are right its a perfect material and I am always in awe when someone is good in upcycling, much better than buying new <3
(by the way I somewhere read that Dexter will get another season and will come back... wait I will research...)

Wow, it already aired, I did not knew. But it seems in Germany you only can see it with pay TV (which I do not have). Hope it will get free soon.

OMG, that's an excellent new, let's wait then. Thanks a lot, big huge for you.
