En el camino del desarrollo de mi artista interior me siento acompañada cuando leo anécdotas de mis referentes, por eso te animo a compartir tu proceso creativo, esto suele inspirar a alguien más y nos vamos haciendo una cadena de acompañamiento.

Lola es una dibujante e ilustradora española, su arte es disruptivo, contestatario, donde muestra sin tabú lo que a las mujeres nos cuesta decir a toda voz. Está próxima a sacar su cuarto libro, también ha hecho agendas y almanaques.

El primer dibujo que vi de Lola me hizo muchísimo ruido pero me agradó y enganchó de una, era sobre la menstruación. La naturalidad y certeza de su comunicación a través de las ilustraciones es digna de admiración. Pues, se necesita mucho coraje y valentía para mostrar e ir por delante con su trabajo, sobre todo en el mercado del arte.
The first drawing I saw of Lola made a lot of noise but I liked it and I was hooked at once, it was about menstruation. The naturalness and certainty of her communication through her illustrations is worthy of admiration. Well, it takes a lot of courage and bravery to show and go ahead with her work, especially in the art market.
Sin embargo le perdí la pista, al menos no la frecuentaba tanto, pues me enfoque en otros referentes, en especial en una por su cercanía, reflejaba lo que yo quería lograr y aquí va la reflexión. Este artista, cambió todo su arte, objetivo, incluso su performance, sin embargo yo seguía tomando lo mejor, hasta que me detuve a ver mis creaciones bajo esa influencia, no me gustó, vi como mi estilo, técnica y propósito se habían desviado. Fué así como, retome mis anotaciones y volví a revisar mis referentes, entonces recupere y mejoré mi trabajo.
However I lost track of it, at least I did not frequent it so much, because I focused on other references, especially in one because of its proximity, it reflected what I wanted to achieve and here is the reflection. This artist changed all his art, objectives, even his performance, however I kept taking the best, until I stopped to see my creations under that influence, I did not like it, I saw how my style, technique and purpose had deviated. That's how I went back to my notes and revisited my references, then I recovered and improved my work.
En ese chequeo me topé nuevamente con Lola, sentí como un abrazo de una vieja amiga a la cual tenía tiempo sin ver, y fue un baño de realidad con la visión clara de lo que puedo hacer para enderezar mi desarrollo como artista. Me adentré en su perfil, lo que ha crecido como artista y empresarias, días después, gracias a la limpieza del algoritmo me aprece la publicación de Lola sobre un concurso, la invitación es hacer nuestra versión de ella en la técnica que sea, sin pensarlo mucho y con toda la emoción del mundo junte todo para recrearla.
In that checkup I ran into Lola again, I felt like an embrace from an old friend whom I had not seen for a long time, and it was a bath of reality with the clear vision of what I can do to straighten my development as an artist. I went into her profile, what has grown as an artist and entrepreneur, days later, thanks to the algorithm cleaning I found Lola's publication about a contest, the invitation is to make our version of her in any technique, without thinking much and with all the excitement in the world I put everything together to recreate it.
Luego de rellenar el cuerpo, juntar los brazos, dibujé con lápiz su rostro satírico y que tanto me gusta, luego pinté mi versión de corazón, también su respectivo calzado Converse rojo. Luego vino el cabello, el cual fue bastante rápido, tal vez sea la práctica que esta vez fue menos complicado, sin embargo cambié un poco la técnica, antes de pegarle el estambre hecho cabellos, en su cabecita le peque un círculo de tela negra, así son menos los espacios vacíos y sinceramente se ve más prolijo.
After filling in the body, putting the arms together, I drew with pencil his satirical face that I like so much, then I painted my version of heart, also his respective red Converse shoes. Then came the hair, which was quite fast, maybe it is the practice that this time was less complicated, however I changed the technique a little, before gluing the yarn made hair, in his little head I cut a circle of black cloth, so there are less empty spaces and honestly it looks neater.
Para el vestuario estaba indecisa entre su traje casual que trata de una camisa con rayas y un pantalón oscuro o un vestido rojo con un cardigan de líneas blancas y negras. Entonces me decidí por hacerlo todo, porque ahorita ando creyendo mucho en la milla extra, dar un poco más de lo que podemos si nos va a beneficiar.
For the wardrobe she was undecided between her casual outfit, which is a striped shirt and dark pants, or a red dress with a black and white cardigan. So I decided to go all out, because right now I'm a big believer in going the extra mile, giving a little more than we can if it's going to benefit us.
Para el look casual, hice el patrón directamente en la tela el pantalón, como ven en la imagen, corté 2 piezas, y uní por los tiros, luego abrí y uní las entrepiernas, luego hice dobladillos en los ruedo y cintura, finalmente le pegué un botón decorativo, para la camisa hice el procedimiento que ya he publicado anteriormente, la diferencia es que con puntadas le hice las líneas características del outfit casual.
For the casual look, I made the pattern directly on the fabric of the pants, as you can see in the image, I cut 2 pieces, and joined them at the straps, then I opened and joined the crotch, then I hemmed the hems at the hem and waist, finally I glued a decorative button, for the shirt I did the procedure that I have already published previously, the difference is that with stitches I made the characteristic lines of the casual outfit.
Para el look fancy o elegante, elegí la tela roja satinada corte 2 rectángulos con el doble del ancho de la medida de la Lola Muñeca, cosí los laterales por donde los uni dejando un espacio entre el cuello y las sisa por donde van los brazos, cosi el orillo del ruedo y el canal del cuello por donde atravesé una cinta roja para cerrar el vestido.
For the fancy or elegant look, I chose the red satin fabric and cut 2 rectangles twice the width of the Lola Doll, I sewed the sides where I joined them leaving a space between the neck and the armholes where the arms go, I sewed the hem of the hem and the neck channel where I put a red ribbon through to close the dress.
Para el cardigan fue mucho más rápido y fácil el procedimiento, considero puede hacerse en escala humana, con lycra hice un rectángulo con alfiler delimite los brazos y torso, luego unico con puntadas rectas, allí mismo marqué el centro y corte solo por la parte del frente, después hice el corte del cuello, finalmente le di la vuelta, guardando la costura y listo el cardigan para el look fancy.
For the cardigan was much faster and easier procedure, I think it can be done in human scale, with lycra I made a rectangle with pin delimit the arms and torso, then I joined with straight stitches, right there I marked the center and cut only the front part, then I made the cut of the neck, finally I turned it over, keeping the seam and ready the cardigan for the fancy look.
Puedo decirles que estoy muy satisfecha con el resultado, no se si gane pero puedo decir que esto lo siento como otro nivel en mi desarrollo creativo como artista, porque fue un reto poco convencional para mi, no soy de participar en concursos o mostrarme como fan, pero esta vez me atreví, me tracé el propósito con determinación y lo logré, debo decirles que en ejecución es la muñeca de tela que he hecho más rápido con menos tropiezos o frustración, ha de ser porque el modelo ya no era tan dibujo libre, aquí me refuerza la importancia de hacer un boceto antes de todo.
I can tell you that I am very satisfied with the result, I do not know if I won but I can say that this feels like another level in my creative development as an artist, because it was an unconventional challenge for me, I do not participate in contests or show myself as a fan, but this time I dared, I traced the purpose with determination and I succeeded, I must tell you that in execution is the fabric doll I have done faster with fewer stumbles or frustration, it must be because the model was no longer so free drawing, here I reinforce the importance of making a sketch before everything.
