Feliz día hivers, seguimos creativos, hoy quiero contarles, que hice la primera venta oficial de esta nueva línea de muñecas de tela, estoy muy feliz porque más allá de lo monetario, se siente muy bien la valoración del trabajo artrítico y también es reconfortante ver metas cumplidas que antes pensaba estaba lejos.
Happy hivers day, we are still creative, today I want to tell you that I made the first official sale of this new line of fabric dolls, I am very happy because beyond the monetary, it feels very good the valuation of arthritic work and it is also comforting to see fulfilled goals that before I thought was far away.
Esta hada unicornio fue a petición de una mamá que vió mis estados y me preguntó que si las vendía, al principio sentí temor o inseguridad en darle un costo, pero me sacudí rápido esa mentalidad de escasez y asumí todo el proceso de venta, con el formulario para personalizar la muñeca, la mamá muy contenta accedió y proporcionó la información necesaria.
This unicorn fairy was a mom’s request who saw my states and asked me if I would sell them, at first I felt fear or insecurity in giving her a cost, but I quickly shook that scarcity mentality and assumed the entire sales process, with the form to customize the doll, the mom very happy agreed and provided the necessary information.
Para el día siguiente ya estaba manos a la obra con: tijeras, telas diversas, lápiz, pintura, hilo, agujas, alfileres, elástica, pinceles, estambre y algodón de relleno. Luego de armar el cuerpo y los brazos, rellene todo, aquí empieza el juego de probar con las referencias y el material que tengo disponible, entre los colores del rostro y del cabello.
The next day I was already working with scissors, different fabrics, pencil, paint, thread, needles, pins, elastic, brushes, yarn and cotton stuffing. After assembling the body and arms, I stuffed everything, here begins the game of trying with the references and the material I have available, between the colors of the face and hair.
Una vez con el maquillaje, el peinado y el corazón listo empieza la confección del traje. Esta vez emule un tutú y una camisa decorada como unicornio, también hice una varita mágica y el respectivo cuerno unicornio como cintillo, entonces ya les cuento el paso. Lo primero fue buscar una referencia con todo lo que decía la mamá: un hada con violeta porque es su color favorito y de unicornio porque es todo lo que mira.
Once the makeup, hairstyle and heart are ready, the costume making begins. This time I made a tutu and a shirt decorated as a unicorn, I also made a magic wand and the respective unicorn horn as a headband, so I'll tell you step by step. The first thing was to look for a reference with everything the mom said: a fairy with violet because it is her favorite color and a unicorn because it is all she looks at.
Para la camisa, ya tenía un patrón establecido, así que corté 2 piezas en lycra sofía, dejando 2 cms de margen, pero unidas en los hombros, con una abertura trasera tal como indica la imagen, para dar buen acabado primero pasé una costura zig zag pequeña y apretada por todos los bordes, luego con puntada recta hice el orillo del cuello, mangas y ruedo de la camisa. Luego cerré hasta la mitad la parte trasera y en la parte de arriba le cosí este botón de caballito, para finalmente bordar a mano los ojos del unicornio en la parte frontal y pegar con silicon la corona.
For the shirt, I already had an established pattern, so I cut 2 pieces in lycra sofia, leaving 2 cm of margin, but joined at the shoulders, with a back opening as shown in the image, to give a good finish first I passed a small zig zag seam and tight along all edges, then with straight stitch I made the selvage of the neck, sleeves and hem of the shirt. Then I closed the back halfway and sewed this little horse button on the top, and finally I hand embroidered the eyes of the unicorn on the front and glued the crown with silicon.
Para la falda usé lycra sirena y elástica, recorté un rectángulo 2 veces el tamaño de la cintura, hice un canal por donde pasé con ayuda de un alfiler la elástico y ajusté hasta la medida deseada, aseguré con alfiler para luego cerrarlo con las puntadas correspondientes, ahora es tiempo de los accesorios.
For the skirt I used mermaid lycra and elastic, I cut a rectangle 2 times the size of the waist, I made a channel through which I passed with the help of a pin the elastic and adjusted it to the desired size, secured it with a pin and then closed it with the corresponding stitches, now it's time for the accessories.
Para el cuerno unicornio, hice un pequeño triángulo doble, el cual rellene con algo de algodón, así conserva la firmeza por más tiempo, antes ya le había cosido un cintillo con tela saten a la muñeca hada. Justo en el centro, le cosí la base con tela blanca sofia simulando una nube y luego pegué el cuernito.
For the unicorn horn, I made a small double triangle, which I stuffed with some cotton, so it keeps its firmness for a longer time, before I had already sewn a satin fabric headband to the fairy doll. Right in the center, I sewed the base with white sofia fabric simulating a cloud and then I glued the little horn.
Para la varita mágica, forre un pincel que no uso con tela satinada, después hice un lazo, un pequeño rectángulo el cual fruncí en el medio con costura a mano y decore con la misma tela de la falda de la muñeca hada, reforcé todo con costura y silicon. Ahora la parte soñada, el empaque, pla guardé en una cajita blanca, en el fondo puse un cuento para colorear, le esparcí unas pegatinas de unicornio, acosté a la muñeca de lado junto a su varita mágica y a sus pies una nota nota a mano de agradecimiento, la selle con un sticker de mi marca.
For the magic wand, I lined an unused brush with satin fabric, then I made a bow, a small rectangle which I gathered in the middle with hand stitching and decorated with the same fabric of the fairy doll's skirt, I reinforced everything with stitching and silicon. Now the dreamed part, the packaging, I put it in a little white box, at the bottom I put a coloring story, I spread some unicorn stickers, I laid the doll on her side next to her magic wand and at her feet a handwritten thank you note, I sealed it with a sticker of my brand.

A mí también me cuesta y bastante poner un precio a lo que hago, y siempre tengo una ganancia mínima en mis ventas, pues a la verdad ni es ganancia porque se invierten muchísimas horas de trabajo, pero es algo que se hace con mucha pasión y cada puntada vale la pena.
