My partner used one of my precious disposable masks, which my mother sent me few years ago when I was pregnant. I kept them for emergency such as we have to go to a hospital ........................... 😱He could have used one of the towels in the bathroom 😭
Maybe it's good to make one for him and good that I wanted to try another shape after I made a pleated mask. This time I made a 3D one.
It was away quicker for me to sewed it than the pleated one as making pleat, attaching bias tapes etc took time.
The elastic bands are made out of leftover jersey when I sewed my daughter's pant.
My partner liked it and requested me to make a smiling mouth on it. I will embroider one after I finish my work for this week.
And ... the reason I wanted to sew a 3D mask is that recently my favorite embroidery artist Yumiko Higuchi showcased her beautiful masks. Yes, I want to try this! I have thread to do it!

I'm still skeptical to the effectiveness of hand made masks but I'm interested in our future fashion with masks.
先日40日以上ぶりにお父ちゃんが買い物に行くと言いだし、行ってくれたのはいいけれど、私の大事な日本マスクのストックを使いやがった・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・！妊婦時代に母が送ってくれたもので、ドイツではマスクをする習慣がなく、使っていなかった私も悪いけれど、病院に行かなければいけないとか、緊急事態のためにとってあったのに。トイレのタオルでも巻いていけばいいのに。ぶつぶつ。
ということで、お父ちゃん用のをひとつ縫いました。3Dマスクを縫ってみたかったのもあり。縫ってみると、プリーツマスクより手軽に縫えました。今後作るときは3Dマスクに決定。
なんで3Dマスクを作ってみたかったかというと、刺繍作家の樋口愉美子さんの刺繍マスクが美しすぎ、これやってみたい・・・と思ったからです。刺繍糸なら一色だけ手元にあるし。

手作りマスクの効用は未だイマイチ信じていませんが、ファッションとしてのマスクには興味があります。今週の仕事が終わったら刺繍マスクを作り始めます。

トイレのタオル笑っちゃいました😂皆さんお元気そうで嬉しいです。こちらはもうすぐゴールデンウィークですが、帰省もお出かけも出来ないし、家でどう過ごしたら良いものか頭を悩ませています。。
書いていて実はなんかセブンさんち的なネタだなあと思っていたんですよ。セブンさんの投稿に笑わされたいよーーとリクエスト！！Hiveも上がったことだし楽しみにしています :)
ちなみにタオルは使い捨てマスクほどではないものの、スカーフよりも効果があるという研究もあるようでタオルあなどれないですよ。
最近のうちはもう、、、7:30起床、9:00までに朝ごはんを食べて着替え歯磨き完了、10:00までに弁当を作って庭で草むしり、12:00に庭で弁当を食べて、13:00-15:00昼寝、おやつを食べて父ちゃんに子どもをバトンタッチ・・・・というものすごくモノトーンな日々を送っています。。。
冬が怖い。。

家族がみんな家にいるので3食作るのがもう苦痛で苦痛で… オーブンを新しくしたのでパン焼きに挑戦してみるか！とスーパーに行ったらドライイーストは品切れだし。。ネットで注文してやっと届いたところです。色々と不便ですよね。早く収束して欲しいです。
4月になったらブログも再開、と思っていたのに、子どもが2人とも家にいるので全然手をつけられず😂休校も休園もまだまだ延びそうな気配。でも近いうちにまた書きたいです！
Did him using your mask hurt as much as when my kids used my super sharp cloth scissors on paper? I think only crafters can relate.

My mom has been making some crochet ones with little pockets so that she can put coffee filters in them.
Etsy had a "call to action" post a while ago asking the community who knew how to hand make masks - I thought that was interesting.
😂 That's right about crafters.
And it's a good initiative from Etsy. I must take a look at the call.
Basically, a few weeks ago, they were predicting that we would be running out of protective gear. They were encouraging everyone who can make masks to create them and offer them for sale, to help with the demand.
Wow, the embroidery on the mask is really stunning... but you know me, I can only admire embroidery from afar, much to impatient to do it myself. But I am looking forward to your version (or the mouth). I am also unsure how effective the fabric masks are... but if it only helps a bit its better than not. I still have no solution to my glasses getting clouded while wearing a mask. So, hopefully we do not need them too long.

Seems to be a comfortable mask, nice work. I like the quality of cloth, which is important for the skin. I don't know why some of the masks bought from the market does not suit me.
