I think it's my first summer to knit socks.
In case we don't afford heating in winter, I knit socks in between work. Wool socks may help me keep myself a bit. My partner's parents got suddenly additional 400 Euro bill. It's still payable but I don't know how crazy it will be in the winter time.
I know a lot of people are living under an away tougher condition.
I wish peaceful days come in the future for all ... 🧶

毛糸の靴下が何足かあるとせめて足元だけでも暖かいかなと今年は夏にも靴下を編んでいます。私なんかよりよっぽど大変な状況にある人もいるんだよなあなどと考えつつ。
靴下編んでいたことを笑えるくらいの平和な日々がくることを願っています。

Nice socks. If I ever get to learn knitting I am going to create my own socks.
Knitting heals are a bit tricky but other than that it's quite simple. I think it's a good starter as it's quite small and for sure you can finish in one or two seasons :)
I am also knitting wool socks like crazy. This will be my first northern winter in over 30 years. I got spoiled living in the South. Wool hats and socks are essential for keeping warm when it gets bitterly cold.

I have dozens of shawls and scarves. In the South a shawl was needed after sundown or in air-conditioned areas. I do need to make more hats, though. !CTP
Nachzahlung…. Ugh no joy. We are still waiting to get the bill from our landlord and I do not think it will be smaller than in the last years (May I rant… ? instead of wanting people to stop heating - or forcing people through prices to stop heating, perhaps a tempo limit or a limit to meat consumption or sustainable energies or or or would be better). Good wool socks are always helpful to get warm feet and knitting socks in summer, why not? I am knitting a shawl :-DDD

I wonder what will be a good solution. I heard there will be 350 EUR support money for tax payers but I don't think printing and distributing money cannot be a sustainable solution (as we see from corona aid). Reusable energy can be difficult especially solar during winter in Germany. We must be creative.
I try not to feel down with rainbow colored socks, shawl, and hat 🌈 🧶
Our heating bill doubled in a month last winter so I’m also making sure we are well cared for in terms of wool clothing.
I’ve never knitted socks starting from the toes up, they look like they fit really well :)

Toe up knitting is quite straight forward. I can only knit with a pair of circular needle (or another pair for ribbing) :)
pretty socks! i never done them my whole life. I kind of needed them for m shoes
