My Needs
I want to have a market bag that I can carry an egg case and a box of berries straightly on my bike handle. Eco bags are nice but flat ones are not ideal to carry eggs and berries as they don't have flat bottom. Moreover my leg hits an eco bag on my bike handle when I bike ... :( To carry things straightly, I like baskets a lot! But not easy to carry on bike.
I have a detachable bike basket. It works for eggs but berries are jumping and crushing in a bag in the basket often. They stay safe more in a bag on bike handle.
I've been thinking about making my dream market bag since 2013 ... ! So it's a 7 years old project 😅
Previous Attempt
I made a hemp market bag two years ago this time. Its shape is ideal and I like I can fold it to put in my bag.

I bring this bag almost always to markets and use for the other occasions. Unfortunately I got to know hemp isn't much long lasting material. The handles are partially broken and I fixed one recently.
My New Attempt
This time I decided to use canvas fabric. It's not finish yet but looks fine. The canvas fabric can be thicker one though.
As it's quite long like a Dachshund. So I named it Dachs Marketbag 😁
I'll finish it this week and look forward to visiting Leipzig city market on Friday!
日本にいる時からずっと理想の買い物袋、特に自転車のハンドルにかけて、買ったものを真っ直ぐ運べる買い物袋を作りたい作りたいと思っていました。
自転車のハンドルにかけるのでいわゆる縦長のエコバッグだと、自転車をこぐ時に膝があたってしまうんですよね。ドイツではベリー類はマーケットで箱に入って売られているので気をつけないと大変なことになります。あと、卵もケースが紙で、しっかりしていてこれまでクラッシュしたことはないけれどまっすぐ運びたいです。
2年前に編んだ麻の買い物袋をとても気に入って毎日のように使っていたら、持ち手が解けてきて、直すのが難しく、うーん。
重い腰を上げて縫い始めました😅だいたい完成させてみた印象では、形はいいものの、生地はあと一段厚めがいいかな。金曜日までに完成させて、マーケットに使い心地を検証しにいこうと思います。
そうそう、このバッグは横長でダックスフントのようなのでダックスバッグと心の中で呼んでいます。
7年越しのプロジェクト、ようやく日の目を見るかな？
The handles are always the weak point of a bag! I remember you showing us the hemp bag, I loved the colors and pattern.
I recently read about bag handles that you don't sew to the fabric, exchangeable handles sold with name (or label?) Miyako in. Germany. Unfortunately the're all sold out, they are intriguing.

Using exchangeable bag handles is a good idea! I must take a look at a hand craft shop :) I may be able to remove the handles and add new ones. Thank you for the inspiration, muscara!
