I hope you are well or are trying to be well. I am trying to be well. I would like to share with you a vest I made for myself a long time ago. As it was my first attempt at making a vest, there are some adjustments that need to be made. It seems a little more experience is needed for this. I think I gained this experience with this vest.
I think I used 3-4 pieces of size 4 yarn. This yarn was 25% wool and 75% acrylic, but I think it was the wrong choice for my skin. Let's call it a chain of problems caused by inexperience. But there's no problem for now. I think I can eliminate this wool problem with a white shirt.
Now let's get to what I did.
I must say that this time, I watched a tutorial for my learning phase. I was trying to follow it. I failed, but I still need to share the necessary resource with you. You can watch the video I watched via this link. The original is really beautiful and suitable for beginners. It was just a period when I hadn't yet developed the habit of counting and was getting tired 😂
First, I started from the bottom. I think I did six chain height there. When it reached the length to surround me, I continued one row straight to be able to go up. While continuing upwards, I used a crochet hook. As beautiful as it looked, it wasn't that fun to do 😂 because sometimes there were gaps, and I had to go back and redo it every time.
It was more mentally challenging than physically, but they say you can't blame the first attempts. After finishing the body part, I continued by leaving space for the armhole and neckline, gradually decreasing the size to be able to move up towards the shoulder. By this point, I was honestly tired of watching the video.
After finishing both sides and the back, it was time for the final details. I tried to continue with the video as best I could, but it turned out differently than the one there. There was a lot of excess fabric, especially at the end of the V-neck and under the arm. There was also a butterfly-like bulge on the shoulder.
Later, I thought that I could fix these by sewing them last, as best I could. Due to my carelessness and forgetfulness, I still haven't done it 😂
All in all, I can say that this jumper, which took about 3-4 hours, was a pain, but it taught me what not to do. Later, I knitted a new jumper for my mother and didn't need to watch a video. I also managed to finish it in just two pieces with a bit of calculation.

Umarım iyisinizdir ya da iyi olmaya çalışıyorsunuzdur. Ben iyi olmaya çalışıyorum. Sizlerle uzun süre önce kendim için yaptığım bir süveteri paylaşmak istiyorum. İlk defa süveter denediğim için yapılması gereken düzeltmeler var. Bunun için biraz daha tecrübe gerekiyormuş. Bunuda bu süveter ile bu tecrübeyi kazandığımı düşünüyorum.
Sanırım 3-4 adet 4 numara ip kullandım. Bu ip %25 yün ve %75 akrilikti ama sanırım benim cildim için yanlış bir seçimdi. Tecrübesizliğin verdiği sorunlar zinciri diyelim. Ama şimdilik bir sorun yok. Beyaz bir gömlek ile bu yün sorununu ortadan kaldırabilirim diye düşünüyorum.
Şimdi gelelim neler yaptığıma.
Söylemeliyimki bu sefer, öğrenme aşamam için bir tutorial izledim. Ona uymaya çalışıyordum. Başarısız oldum fakat yine de gereken kaynağı sizlerle paylaşmalıyım. İlk olarak en alt kısımdan başladım. Onlarda yanlış hatırlamıyorum 6 sıralı yaptım. Beni çevreleyecek uzunluğa geldiğinde ise yukarı çıkabilmek için bir sıra düz devam ettim. Yukarı doğru devam ederken ise trabzan kullandım. Göze ne kadar güzel görünse de yapması o kadar da eğlenceli değildi 😂 çünkü arada boşluklar kalıyordu bazen ve her seferinde geri dönüp yeniden yapmam gerekiyordu.
Fizikselden çok mental olarak beni zorladı ama ilklerin suçu olmaz derler. Gövde kısmı bittikten sonra ise omuza doğru çıkabilmek için kol boşluğu ve dekolte için alan bırakarak, azaltarak, devam ettim. Bu sırada da artık videoyu izlemekten yorulmuştum açıkçası.
İki tarafı ve sırtı da bitirdikten sonra son detaylara gelmişti sıra. Burada elimden geldiği kadar video ile devam etmeye çalışsam da oradakinden farklı oldu. Özellikle de V yakanın ucunda ve kolaltında kalan kısımda bolluk oldu. Ayrıca omuz kısmında da kelebek benzeri bir yükseklik oluştu.
Sonradan düşündüm ki bunları en sonra dikerek elimden geldiğince düzeltebilirim. Temeblliğimden ve unutkanlığımdan dolayı da hâlâ yapamadım 😂
Toplamda 3-4 saat kadar süren bu süveter başıma bela oldu diyebilirim ama bana neyi nasıl yapmamam gerektiğini öğretti de. Daha sonra, daha yeni, anneme de bir süveter ördüm ve bir video izlememe gerek kalmadı. Ayrıca sadece iki parçada bitirebildim biraz hesaplama yaparak.
