Hello everyone
Happy new week and a beautiful Monday to you all my creative friends, lovers of diy, members of this great community @needleworkmonday i hope you all had a nice weekend, it is another lovely week and i am here to share with you all my recent creative design of a floral lace top i made to complement my African print fabric short i made recently from pieces of left over fabrics, you can see how beautiful the outcome is on me, believe me, i so much love how beautiful the outcome is, both top and short were inspired by @glorydee and @monica-ene from their previous post, i love what they made and decided to make something similar for myself with a nice outcome.
Last week Monday, i shared in this community how i made a short for myself for the first time using African print fabric given to me by a friend and the outcome was nice
After making the short, i had some left over pieces which ordinarily would have been disposed or trashed out but i kept it not even knowing what to do with it but fortunately for me, i saw this floral lace fabric i had kept for 7years now, it was a left over fabric i had kept after making one of my outfit which i have given out a long time ago but today, that left over pieces was still very useful to me to make this beautiful top
Immediately i saw the floral lace fabric, i remembered a top @monica-ene made 2weeks ago with a small piece of lace fabric as this so, i thought this is just so perfect for me to make a top to the short i made. Unfortunately when it was folded for me to cut out the top, it was short, at first i decided to make a crop top but my husband don't actually like it so i thought of making an off shoulder top so that it will be longer a bit but after taking the measurement, it was not still long enough.
I remembered i had some left over fabric from the short i made then i cut out tge off shouder sleeves
I also cut out 2 pieces from the floral lace which was used to pipe the sleeves at the shoulder
I took a matching color bias tape to pipe the neckline of the front and back of the top for neat finishing
Then the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference on both sides of the top
To make the top longer, i cut out many pieces of fabric measuring 4" from the left over African print fabric and they were sewn together to make a long piece.
The long piece was used to make pleat round the hem of the top to make it longer and this is it
The top looks so perfect on the short with a beautiful outcome, I'm so happy i was able to make this indoor outfit for myself.
I tried it on and it looks so beautiful on me, when my husband saw it, he likes what i made and promised to get me some fabrics to make beautiful indoor wear for myself as this.
I hope you like the beautiful outcome of my top and the short made with left over pieces of fabrics.
