Hello everyone
Happy Easter celebration to you all on this beautiful day, I wish you all happy Easter Monday as we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ this season, I hope you are all doing well and having fun at your respective places today. I will be sharing with you today in this community @needleworkmonday the making of this simple and beautiful pleated gown outfit I made for my neighbor's daughter for the Easter celebration.
My neighbor Mr Ransom was transferred to work in a company not far from my house, he stays alone but his wife and children usually comes around during holidays, this time they came immediately the school went on break and as Easter was very close, Mr Ransom brought this fabric for me to help his wife and two daughters to sew a simple style that will be enough for them, with the measurement of the fabric, I have less than 5yards of fabric with which I have to make 3 outfit from, I began to think of a way to go about, but the children outfit are the main priority so I decided to make for the little girl first.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process
From the fabric, I measured the full length and deducted the half length measurement from it and I cut out the gathered pleated of x3 of the waist measurement, it was taken to the sewing machine where I ran a long stitch and gather it together to the waist circumference measurement.
For the upper bodice, I cut out a basic front and back bodice with a floral lace yoke, for the front and back as well, the it was sewn to the upper bodice with the zipper allowance at the back, the neckline was pipe with a bias tape to give it a neat finishing.
The gathered pleat was sewn to the upper bodice to the zipper allowance at the back and a matching color zipper was sewn to the zipper allowance.
At the back neckline, a used a hand needle and thread to fix a hook to make it firm.
Since the fabric will be used for three people, I decided to use the floral lace I bought to make the sleeves so that the fabric will be enough, to make the sleeves, I cut out out a basic sleeves and used the main fabric to pipe the hem of the sleeves and it was sewn to the armhole circumference.
This is the final outcome of the pleated gown outfit I made for my neighbor's daughter faith for Easter celebration. You can see how beautiful and nice it looks on her.
Was I able to make the three outfit from this limited fabric? Find out in my subsequent post 😜
