Hello everyone
Greetings to all the beautiful souls in this great community, its so nice to be here today to share with you my recent and first attempt of making this reversible baby bloomers using two colors of fabrics from some if my left over fabrics.
As a seamstress, i do not limit myself to only sewing of outfit, i tried to cut across so many part of sewing and i also like to try out new things there by challanging myself to do things that i never thought i could do. Last weekend, i went to visit a friend of mine with her little baby and i saw her with a reversible bloomer for her baby yhen i thought to myself, i could make this as well, then i went online to get a pattern which was successfully drafted out and i began the sewing process, it was a beautiful thing that it came out this nice. I so much love what i did and the beautiful outcome.
It can either be turned to the red or green part depending on the color of outfit the baby is wearing.
#Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process
I measured and cut out 2 pieces of fabric from different colors measuring 22 x 15"
It was placed together, folded in two and in two again
I measured a slant on the side which was cut out after which it was opened up
I placed both fabrics right side to right side and it was folded in two just as seen below
I made a curve of ½" on one side and 2" on the other side to make the front and back it was connected together before it was cut out
It was taken to the sewing machine to sew on the curve on both sides after which it was turned to the right side
The sides were placed together and sewn on both sides before it was turned to the right side
I sew round the opening on the tigh round, leaving an opening for an elastic band of 0.5"
At the top, it was placed together and i made a stitch round it leaving an opening for an elastic band
I cut out 2 pieces of elastic band and inserted in it the loop i made
Finally, i cut out another piece of elastic band and inserted it in the loop on the waistline and this is the final and beautiful outcome.
It can be turned to the front or back as i have top stitched on the opening for the loop which made it look so nice with a neat finishing.
I hope you like the nice and beautiful outcome of this reversible baby bloomer i made for the first time.
Fortunately from this attempt, i have gotten an order from a friend who saw it and i will be making one for her daughter with a matching fabric with her outfit.
Sending you Ecency love
