Today is another pleasure for me to share with you all the making of a simple and easy diy of a big scrunchie hair band. There is a lot you can do with your left over pieces of fabric to reduce waste and to make something nice and useful instead of trashing them out. Sometimes you can make this little items as a gift to your friends, family and love ones around you or even as an accessory for yourself to complement your outfits.

I will be sharing the simple step by step process you can follow to make this just as I have made it for myself.

This piece of fabric has been kept in my bag where I usually store pieces of fabric for a long time for a day like this, most times after sewing, the pieces of fabric will be with me for as long as I find something useful to make from it instead of throwing them away.

Join me as I take you through this simple process to achieve this big scrunchie for my hair and I'm sure you will like the beautiful outcome and want to try it out as well.

I measured and cut out I long piece of fabric from the left of pieces of this particular fabric measuring 20 x 6.5"

It was folded in two on the wrong side and was taken to my sewing machine where I sew from one edge to the other leaving 2" on both sides unsewn

It was turned in to the right side and I placed the two ends together before it was sewn on the wrong side

I turned it to the right side and measured an elastic band of 6" and inserted it in the piece through the opening

The elastic band was sewn and secure together while I folded the opening in and top stitched on it round
