Greetings to you all from this part of the world,it's a beautiful day out here and I hope you all are doing great, it's my pleasure to share with you today from my sewing room the making of this stylish cute hand bag I made for my niece using fabric. It's simple, easy and useful, I will be sharing the step by step process below and I am sure you will like it as well.
Just as you can see from the above picture, this is made from pieces of fabric with zipper to secure the items in it, handle to make it easy to hold and carry around with a sitting bottom to make it balance.
Most times, ladies love to go out with a cute hand bag and most especially a matching one with the outfit we wear, my niece is not left out in wearing an outfit with a matching hand bag, well since she got me, making different accessories with fabric including hand bags, she is covered. I have made different hand bags for her and she still demands for more, I don't think that is a problem since I can get it done with pieces of fabric. This is the recent bag I made for her just as she wanted it.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process.
I measured and cut out 17 x 11" from a particular fabric with interfacing iron on it and it was also used to cut out same shape of lining.
It was folded in two, then I measured 1.5 x 1.5" on the 4 corners
The same process was repeated on the lining as well then on the main fabric, I placed my zipper and lining together at the top and it was sewn together.
It was top stitched on both sides and I placed lining to lining and main fabric to main fabric
For the handle, I measured and cut out another piece of fabric measuring 4 x 12"
It was folded in and sew on both sides to make the handle
I sew on both sides leaving an opening on one side of the lining where it can be turned inside
Before sewing on the four corners where I cut out, I placed the handle on both sides where the zipper is at the top and it was sewn together
The excess zipper was trimmed off and it was turned to the wrong side through the opening on the lining
The opening on the lining was top stitched on and the main bag was turned to the right side
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the cute hand bag I made for my niece, I hope you like the beautiful outcome
With this, you can make beautiful hand bag with fabric that will help to reduce and cut cost of buying those expensive bags.
