Hello everyone

Another beautiful day to you all out there, I hope the week is going smoothly at your end, still in the making of our church women choir anniversary outfit, just as I shared in my previous post last week, I have been contacted to make the outfit for the anniversary according to their individual preference though we agreed it to be a skirt and peplum blouse, I made one of it last week, a six piece skirt with elastic band and 360° flare with princess dart at the upper bodice.

Today, I will be sharing the making of this beautiful 720° double flare peplum blouse and a straight skirt with elastic waist band for another person in the choir just as she desires and I hope you like the beautiful outcome as well.

To make this outfit, I started with the cutting of the skirt which I made yesterday, I fold the fabric in two to cut the front and back using the bodice measurement I took, it was turned with lining then the front and back were sewn together

I cut out elastic band and sew it on both sides of the skirt, the extra inches on the waist line was used to turn the elastic band in to make a band and that was it.

The skirt was set aside and I proceeded to make the peplum double flare blouse.

To cut the bigger 720° flare, I divide the waist circumference measurement plus 2" for zipper allowance by 2 then I divide what I got by 6.28, I added the flare length to what I got to fold the fabric and it was used to cut out 2 pieces of flare, I used the main fabric to cut out lining for the flare and interfacing was iron on the main fabric

One of the flare was cut in two and was sewn to both sides of the other flare leaving a zipper opening at the back after I had turned it with lining.

I cut out the small flare using same process but it was shorter by 3"

Both 720° flare were sewn together and I have my double flare ready

For the upper bodice, I drafted out a princess dart bustier pattern on a brown paper before it was transferred to the main fabric, I also cut out same for the lining, I iron warden on the bust area and it was sewn together after which it was turned with the lining.

I cut out a basic bodice for the back with zipper allowance and lining was used to turn it for a neat finishing

The front and back were sewn together with the side seam allowance and it's looking nice

I proceeded to cut out a basic short sleeve, folded it in at the hem and it was sewn to the armhole circumference

Finally, the double flare was sewn to the waist line of the upper bodice and a long zipper was sewn to the zipper allowance at the back.
