Hey lovelies ❤️
It's your favorite girl @debbie-ese 😍
Welcome to my blog 🤗
Gradually the festive season rush is here for us tailors and with customer's orders coming in one after the every seconds counts. However, there are times when you get some impromptu requests that it is quite difficult to turn down due to the relationship you have established with the customer.
This was the situation with this trouser and despite the urgency I ensured I did my best to do a good job. I didn't even charge an express fee. In this post I will share with you how I made a pair of trousers for a customer in less than twenty four hours even with my busy schedule.
Materials Needed
- 1½ yards of cotton material
- Zip
- Matching thread
- Tailoring chalk
Step by Step
- These are the following measurements we will be using below: waist - 34", hip - 42", lap - 28", crotch - 30", knee length - 22", trouser length - 42".
- Start by folding your fabrics into two so that we can cut the left and right pieces together.
- Then, go ahead to mark the full trouser length (42") from the top and mark out your hip (42"), lap (28"), crotch (30"), knee length (22") on the fabric.
- Next, carefully cut out the front and back pieces of the trouser and proceed to mark out and cut the waist band.
- To cut the waistband, cut a 4" wide fabric with 34" length and 4" extra which will serve as overlap for the zipper area.
- Next, we will cut out the pocket pieces by folding the fabric into four using the following measurements - length (11"), width (6½).
- I folded the fabric into four because I'm cutting two pockets. Just needed to point that out.
- Next, join the left and right front side together and join the left and right of the back side together as well.
- Then attach your waistband that you have cut earlier on to the waist area.
- Next, attach the zipper. Then create a flap that will face the right side of the trouser.
- Next, give all the seams a good press to flatten them properly. Then hem the bottom using hemming gum or you can sew it.
- Your trouser is ready.
Thanks for reading and see you in my next one.
