Hey lovelies ❤️
It's your favorite girl @debbie-ese 😍
Welcome to my blog 🤗

In this post I will be sharing how I made a beautiful gown for a customer using ankara fabrics and chantilly lace to design some parts of the dress.
But before that I will like to point out that the peak working season for fashion designer is here and it is often chacterised with clients rushing to get new outfits for end of the year events in offices, churches, schools etc, Christmas and New Year celebrations and even weddings, birthdays and so on.
This demands means longer working hours and pressure to meet customer's deadlines. These pressure have been so much that I barely have enough time to rest which makes my time here on my blog also suffer for it. But I will ensure to update my blog as much as I can when I have the chance.
Materials Needed
- 4 yards Ankara fabric
- 4 yards black lining
- 1 yard chantilly lace
- Stones
- Zip
Step by Step
We will be using the following measurements for this gown: bust - 38", waist 34", hip - 42", gown length - 58", sleeve length - 20.5", round sleeve - 14".

To begin we shall fold the fabric into two and mark the bodice measurements accordingly on the fabric.
The bodice measurements will be divided by 4 especially the bust 38" divided by 4 (9.5"), waist 34" divided by 4 (8.5) and hip 42" divided by 4 (10.5").

Next, trace out the measurements and cut the front piece out.
Then, fold the fabric into two again and use the front piece to cut the back piece and be sure to make allowance for zipper.
For the zipper allowance about 1½" should be left on the back piece to cater for the zip.
Next, you will cut out lining for both the front and back pieces by using the front and back pieces of the main fabrics as a guide.

After that cut the chantilly lace that will be used to design the chest area and the base of the gown.

We will use 15" for the shoulder to underbust and 18" for the base of the gown. So, use your pin to hold the chantilly lace firmly on the fabric and use your machine to join it together. This process should be done for the upper and lower lace.

Next, you will use your lining to turn the actual fabric to the right side.
Then join the zipper to the back piece and also join the back shoulder to the front shoulder.

Next, cut 10" of the chantilly lace for the down of the sleeve just like we did for the front piece and use pin to hold it firmly and sew.

Next, attach your lining to the sleeves to give it some structure and it give it a good press. Next, attach the sleeves to the left and right armholes.

Then head to your sewing machine to shape the dress according to the size of the owner.

We will do the finishing for the dress by doing an overlocking stitches for the armhole which is the only part of the dress that has a rough edge.

- This reason for the above is that i did an inseam finishing.

- The gown is ready.
