Sewing a native wear for myself for Sunday service.

Hello hive

It’s a beautiful sunny day here and because of the hotness of the sun I decided to stay in door all day. I didn’t have much to do but thought about a new found friend of mine whom i later decided to visit.

This weekend we will be having our cultural Sunday in church just like every other month. The last Sunday of the year is usually like a cultural Sunday that people get dressed in traditional wears.

I didn’t want to wear a complete native wear but want to look smart

So I decided to sew a native pant to go with a shirt.

This will be both a cultural wear, yet it will be smart.
Let me share share with you how I cut my trouser and the detailed step by step of how you can achieve this.

Before I start my measurement I folded the Ankara then I begin by mark 1 inch allowance for joining of waist band. horizontally mark the line needed for the trouser.

Waist to hip
Waist to crotch depth
Waist to the knee length
Waist to full length

Then to get the circumference of the measurements needed

Waist divide by 4: 28/4 = 7
Hip divide by 4:36/4 = 9
High divide by 2: 20/2=10
Kneel divide by :15/2 = 7.5
Ankle divide by : 12/2=6

Draw out 1inches that will sever as allowance for joining of the waistband then input all the measurements connect it together without seam allowance only for the waist side for the daft then I cut it out

Place it on the folded fabric to cut the back block don’t forget add seams allowances for each part after then cross check the measurements before cutting out

Sewing process for the trouser

Stitching, I start with the crotch, side seam, fix in waistband and zipper by the side d
