Cute Little Boo Plushie — Easy DIY Needlework How-To

“Meet Boo, my little Pac-Man–inspired ghost plushie — a sweet handmade gift for someone special!”

Hello, friends — especially needleworkers! 💕

At first, I wanted to make a little Halloween plushie, so I searched for some ideas. Then I decided to try something I’d never done before — a cute little Boo! 👻

It was inspired by my late mom’s favorite console game, Pac-Man. And guess what? This little Boo is then specially handmade by me for Yvonne, my godmother’s grandchild. That’s why it turned out with a touch of purple — her favorite color! 💜

Now, I’d love to share with you the behind-the-scenes process. Let’s check it out!

🕒 Project Time: Around 4 hours

🧵 Difficulty: Easy

🪡 Skills Needed:

Running stitch

Whip stitch

Blanket stitch

✂️ Materials and Tools:

Thick paper or thin cardboard for the pattern

Pencil

Scissors

Fabric glue (I used UHU)

Pins

Felt fabric in white, black, soft pink, medium purple, and orange

Sewing needle

Some embroidery thread

Filling fiber (I used dacron)

🧸 How to Make It (Easiest Way!)

1️⃣ Draw the Pattern

With my pencil, I drew the ghost pattern — inspired by Pac-Man, so the shape looks like it! I also drew the eyes haha. Then I folded the paper in the center to make sure I’d cut it symmetrically. After cutting, the simple pattern was done.

2️⃣ Trace and Cut the Fabric

Next, I traced the pattern onto the felt fabric using my wooden pencil. I made sure to trace correctly for both front and back sides. After tracing, I cut them out carefully.

3️⃣ Make the Bow 🎀

For the bow, I used purple and orange felt. First, I cut the purple felt into a square shape, folded it, then sewed it in the middle. After that, I wrapped some thread around the center to form the bow shape.

4️⃣ Add the Orange Center

I cut a small orange strip to hide the middle part of the bow, then sewed it at the back to close it neatly. The bow was ready!

5️⃣ Cut Out the Face Details

I cut the black felt into oval shapes for the eyes, small pink circles for the cheeks, and a red felt piece for the mouth. All the little parts were ready!

6️⃣ Appliqué Time 🪡

I used a running stitch for the eyes, a whip stitch for the cheeks and mouth, and then joined the front and back parts of Boo using a blanket stitch.

Before closing it completely, I filled Boo with dacron. For the blanket stitch, I used purple embroidery thread — but orange would also look great since the bow is a mix of purple and orange. I chose purple because Yvonne loves it so much. 💜

7️⃣ Finishing Touch

Once I finished sewing Boo, I glued the ribbon on its upper right side.

🎉 The Result

Voila! Here it is — the cute little Boo for Yvonne! It turned out soft and adorable. 💕
I hope she’ll love it as much as I do!
