Mi hija mayor inició su proceso de pasantías como requisito para poder graduarse, este debe hacerse en más o menos dos meses y medio. Ella debe llevar su vianda para desayunar y almorzar. Pensando en esta necesidad de que llevé sus cosas bien ordenadas y limpias, elaboré un estuche para cubiertos.
En este tutorial, explico detalladamente como lo elaboré, iniciando por el patrón. Además, son pocos materiales que utilicé, sencillas telas que luego puede lavar y seguir usando. Este porta cubiertos lleva tres compartimientos para llevar cuchillo, cuchara y tenedor y uno adicional que es un poco más grande para las servilletas. Además, tiene arriba una pequeña pestaña para que no se salgan y dos tiras para sujetar.

Thinking about this need for her to carry her things well organized and clean, I made a cutlery case.
In this tutorial, I explain in detail how I made it, starting with the pattern. Besides, I used only a few materials, simple fabrics that you can wash and use later. This cutlery holder has three compartments to carry knife, spoon and fork and an additional one that is a little larger for napkins. It also has a small tab at the top to keep them from slipping out and two straps to hold them in place.

PROCEDIMIENTO:
Lo primero es elaborar un patrón a la medida de los cubiertos. Así que tomé un cuchillo y un tenedor y medí su largo. esta medida me sirvió para elaborar un rectángulo; suficientemente ancho para envolver y sujetar tres cubiertos. Así quedó este rectángulo. Le coloqué una parte más pequeña que será donde colocaré los cubiertos.
PROCEDURE:
The first thing is to make a pattern to the size of the cutlery. So I took a knife and a fork and measured their length. This measurement was used to make a rectangle; wide enough to wrap and hold three pieces of cutlery. This is how this rectangle turned out. I placed a smaller part that will be where I will place the cutlery.
Después de tener este rectángulo en el papel, corté en tela dos rectángulos de color fuerte que es la base. Corté en otra tela otro rectángulo que es la bolsa.
After having this rectangle on the paper, I cut in fabric two rectangles of strong color which is the base. I cut in another fabric another rectangle which is the bag.
Le hice los dobladillos y le coloqué un encaje por el borde para adornar.
I hemmed the hems and placed a lace around the edge for decoration.
Coloqué el rectángulo de tela pequeño sobre el grande y marqué con alfileres por donde debía pasar costura recta que serán los bolsillos de cada cubierto.
I placed the small rectangle of fabric on top of the large one and marked with pins where I had to pass straight stitching that will be the pockets of each cover.
Pasé una costura recta.
I passed a straight seam.
Le coloque una pestaña con la misma tela.
Attach a flange with the same fabric.
Hice además y cosí una tira larga para poder sujetar. Esta la coloqué sujetada con alfileres donde necesitaba amarrar, aproximadamente a la mitad. Cubrí con el otro rectángulo por el derecho, y sujeté con alfileres. Le hice una puntada recta cuidando que todas las capas estén bien cosidas y dejé unos centímetros para dar vueltas al derecho.
I also made and sewed a long strip to attach. I pinned it where I needed to tie, about halfway down. I covered with the other rectangle on the right side, and fastened with pins. I made a straight stitch taking care that all the layers are well sewn and left a few centimeters to turn right side out.
Al doblar por el derecho, paso una costura recta como a 0,5 cm del orillo por todo el alrededor.
When folding right side out, I pass a straight seam about 0.5 cm from the selvedge all the way around.
Finalmente, así quedó este hermoso porta cubiertos que es muy útil para llevar en el bolso para esos días de trabajo, o de disfrute al aire libre.
