There is one piece of clothing every lady needs in her wardrobe that she can easily wear on rushed days, or days where you don't just have the strength to bother too much about what to wear, especially for a casual meet up, but still look elegant and comfortable in what you wears. A pallazo pant is one of such pieces of clothing.

A close friend of mine will be hitting the 3-decade clock soon. Hitting #0 isn't an easy feat, and I'm excited for my friend on this birthday. As some of you already know, there is no way a birthday of a close family member or friend goes by without me sewing something thoughtful and beautiful for the celebrant.
After much consideration of what to make for her, I decided on making these cute and comfy palazzo trousers, because I know it will be a very functional gift for her and also look pretty on her.

Thinking the fabric to use for this project, I didn't have to think twice. I knew I wanted something traditional and colorful for her, to add that extra pop of color to her wardrobe. That's why I opted for Ankara fabric. I bought about 2 and a half yards of Ankara fabric, which is enough yardage for her as she is a size 8, and I know it will complement her skin tone perfectly. In addition to the fabric, I also made use of 2 inch length elastic waist band around the waist, also a matching coloured thread.

So without further ado, let's get right into the making process.
Cutting And Sewing Process

- I started by drafting out the front palazzo pattern, and it has two pieces

- Using the front pattern, I extended it by two inches to cut out the back pattern, because the back of the trousers is always bigger than the front, as all the allowance goes to the back.

Continuing, I sewed the crotch area of the front and back patterns.
Then proceeded to join them by their sides

- I also sewed the inseam area of the trousers

- folded and hemmed the base of the trousers neatly in

- Since the waist and hip measurements are the same, I had to shrink the waist area so it can be firm around her waist. So I sewed the two-inch length elastic around the waist, pulling it as I sew, as it measures 5 inches less than her actual waist measurement. And that completes the making process of this Pallazzo trouser. Cute, isn't it?
I know my friend will love wearing these pallazzo trousers, so, If you're looking for something comfortable and stylish as a piece of clothing for yourself, consider adding a pair or more of these pallazzo trousers to your wardrobe.
