My DIY Butterfly Bowtie

in NeedleWorkMonday4 days ago

Making this bowtie was a very exciting and #creative experience for me, well it's over 10years have been doing it and have always find it interesting. so let us go through the journey together.

Materials Needed

Any material of your choice but I choose Suede material for my diy

pattern

Padded, warding or stay (for firmness)

Scissors

Matching thread, Niddle and sewing machine

Elastic band or adjustable strap

Shining stone for the center.

Measuring tape

Pen or tailor’s chalk

Steps

I started by drawing the shape of my bowtie on a piece of carton. The size of my pattern was 5 inches by 4 inches, which helped me get the right size.

I placed the carton pattern on the inside wrong side of my suede material and carefully traced it using a pen. After tracing, I cut out the shape from the suede material. Then, I cut another piece of padded stay with the same 5 by 4 inch measurement. I placed the stay underneath the suede to make it firm and give it a strong frame.

Looking like it gradually. I then sewed the suede and padded stay together neatly with my #sewing machine.

I now carefully cut a small opening in the middle of the material and turned it to the right side which helped to hide all the thread lines and the padded stay, making the bowtie neat. #Butterfly #bowtie are always in two layers, so I repeated the same process to make another piece of the same size. I placed the two bow pieces on top of each other neatly so that the opening I used to turn them inside out would not be visible.

I made the neck belt, which looks like a rope. I then added the strap at both ends to make it adjustable and easy to wear.

Finally I fixed everything together, and i make sure my #stitches is straight and clean, and I added a shining stone at the center to make it more beautiful.
