Silencio, un día vio poco a poco el mar teñirse de un color oscuro y con una consistencia grasosa, recordó como era antes ese lugar. Cada día desde tempranas horas le gustaba andar y conversar con los pescadores de la zona. Escuchar esas historias era como vivir en otro mundo, haciéndolo nuevamente misterioso cada día. “¿Qué esconde el mar?, si cuando lo veo está tranquilo”, esa era una pregunta cuya respuesta era distinta entre cada pescador.

¡Silencio, allí vienen los peces! era una frase escuchada todas las mañanas, mas ese día no la escuchó hasta la puesta del sol.

Silence, one day he saw the sea gradually turn a dark colour and a greasy consistency, he remembered what the place used to be like. Every day from early hours he liked to walk and talk with the fishermen of the area. Listening to those stories was like living in another world, making it mysterious again every day. "What is the sea hiding, if when I see it, it is calm", that was a question whose answer was different from one fisherman to another.

Silence, here come the fish! was a phrase heard every morning, but that day he did not hear it until sunset.

Esta fue una breve introducción del contexto por el cual me animé a tejer este amigurumi. Cada vez que sigo un patrón base y si la diseñadora permite realizarle modificaciones en el cabello, color de piel y vestimenta, trato de viajar al lugar de donde saldrá el personaje y traerlo a este mundo (quizá suene algo raro, jaja).

This was a brief introduction to the context of why I decided to knit this amigurumi. Every time I follow a base pattern and if the designer allows modifications in hair, skin colour and clothes, I try to travel to the place where the character will come from and bring it to this world (maybe it sounds a bit weird, haha).

En verano por lo general usamos colores claros para sentirnos frescos, por ello Silencio lleva un short un poco largo y una camisa rústicos de colores pastel.

In summer we usually wear light colours to feel cool, so Silencio wears a pair of pastel coloured rustic shorts and a rustic shirt.

Las sandalias fue todo un tema, jaja. En la suela no coloqué ningún objeto en su interior, sino la misma puntada del tejido hace que sea dura. Para esto tejí dos réplicas de la base de los pies y las uní con puntos deslizados. Luego bordé con hilo negro entre el pie y la suela.

The sandals were a big issue, haha. I didn't put any object inside the sole, but the stitch of the fabric itself makes it hard. For this I knitted two replicas of the base of the feet and joined them with slip stitches. Then I embroidered with black thread between the foot and the sole.

El sombrero fue tejido con puntos bajo y aumentos al igual que la cabeza. Seguido del tejido en recto unas trece filas. Luego tejí puntos bajos y aumentos siguiendo la continuación de la base de la cabeza, esto hace que no quede tan ondulado la parte de la visera sino un tejido plano. El sombrero es un detalle importante en este diseño, le coloqué una línea lila para que haga la diferencia.

The hat was knitted with low stitches and increases as well as the head. I knitted about thirteen rows of straight knitting. Then I knitted in single and double crochet following the continuation of the base of the head, this makes the visor part of the hat not so wavy but flat knitted. The hat is an important detail in this design, I added a lilac line to make the difference.
