Amigurumi #169: Esfera navideña de Alpaca Suri| Alpaca Suri Christmas ornament

Cuando escuchamos "alpaca" lo que se nos viene a la cabeza es la imagen de la "Alpaca Huacaya"...En sí tenemos 2 razas: Huacaya y Suri, aunque también hay una raza 3 (lo llaman raza intermedia). Esta "alpaca Suri" aún no la he visto en amigurumi ni en peluches y/o muñecos, por lo que tejerla me pareció una idea loca para seguir difundiendo nuestra cultura.

When we hear "alpaca" what comes to mind is the image of the "Alpaca Huacaya"... In itself we have 2 breeds: Huacaya and Suri, although there is also a breed 3 (they call it intermediate breed). This "Suri alpaca" I have not yet seen in amigurumi or in stuffed animals and/or dolls, so crocheting it seemed to me a crazy idea to continue spreading our culture.

Esta raza de alpaca "Suri" tiene como característica principal la de ser lanuda (muy lanuda, jaja). Para esto, tejí vueltas intercaladas de Back loop (BLO).

This breed of alpaca "Suri" has the main characteristic of being woolly (very woolly, jaja). For this, I crocheted intercalated loops of Back loop (BLO).

Para los mechones hice cadenas y regresé con puntos deslizados. Aquí hay múltiples variantes, entre ellos la longitud de las cadenas, el espacio intercalado entre los BLO, el espacio intercalado entre las cadenas, etc.

For the locks I made chains and returned with slipped stitches. There are many variations here, including the length of the chains, the spacing between the BLOs, the spacing between the chains, and so on.

Muestra de esas variaciones, me quedó muy peluchito, jaja. Cada vez que lo miraba, no parecía alpaca, jaja. Por lo que volví a diseñarla y corregí errores.

Sample of these variations, it was very fluffy, jaja. Every time I looked at it, it didn't look like alpaca, jaja. So I redesigned it and corrected some mistakes.

Le cambié de color para avanzar más rápido con el diseño (sino no llegaba para este 24). También cambié el orden del ensamblado y el número de mechones...full cambios.

I changed the colour to make the design go faster (otherwise it wouldn't be ready for this 24th). I also changed the order of the assembly and the number of tufts...full changes.

Este diseño no es sencillo como La vicuña y por ratos me perdía en el número de vueltas (luego regresaba, jaja). Lo que me alegró fue cuando le enseñé esta cabecita a papá y él dijo "Suri". Por cierto, papá es de la zona del Altiplano, y se emociona bastante cuando tejo personajes de su zona.

This design is not as simple as La vicuña and at times I got lost in the number of turns (then I came back, haha). What made me happy was when I showed this little head to dad and he said "Suri". By the way, dad is from the Altiplano area, and he gets quite excited when I crochet characters from his area.

Hola Yasleny. Eso de las alpacas lo ví en mi curso de Zootecnia general en la UNALM. Amo ese curso (también mi carrera, jaja), allí cada día estaba lleno de aprendizaje con temas de la realidad del Perú. Abrazotes.
