Quien no recuerda a la aterradora criatura de la película Alien: El Octavo pasajero, protagonizada por la magnífica actriz Sigourney Weaver en el año 1979 y que posteriormente se convirtió en una saga muy famosa, franquicia de juegos y artículos de colección, su estética ha sido de gran influencia en la cultura de la ciencia ficción. La forma del la criatura de nombre Xenomorfo fue obra del artista H. R. Giger.
Mi versión amigurumi no es exactamente igual al original por razones obvias pero es mi interpretación, quería que fuera de colores al estilo cybergoth por eso utilicé hilo acrílico de color negro y color rosado neón, lo tejí con ganchillo #4 (1,25mm) y lo rellené con fibra sintética.
Who does not remember the terrifying creature from the movie Alien starring the magnificent actress Sigourney Weaver in 1979 and which later became a very famous saga, franchise of games and collectibles, its aesthetic has been highly influential in science fiction culture. The shape of the creature named Xenomorph was the work of the artist H. R. Giger.
My amigurumi version is not exactly the same as the original for obvious reasons but it is my interpretation, I wanted it to be colored in the cybergoth style so I used black acrylic yarn and neon pink color, I crocheted it with # 4 (1.25mm) and I filled it with synthetic fiber.
Proceso / Process
El proceso fue más alargo de lo que pensé, gracias a mi experiencia suelo hacer piezas de ese tamaño en menor tiempo, pero cada figura nueva trae nuevos retos y aprendizajes porque yo misma hago mis patrones, entonces cada puntada que doy lo hago basándome en mi boceto de dibujo que voy convirtiendo de un dibujo bidimensional a una creación tridimensional gracias a la técnica del tejido de amigurumi, en este Xenomorfo tardé 4 días de trabajo intenso.
Para hacer la cabeza comencé tejiendo un circulo, posteriormente continué tejiendo recto por unas seis rondas, para lograr que la cabeza formara una curva tejí la mitad de las puntadas tomando el lado frontal de las puntadas mientras que en la otra mitad tejí tomando el lado detrás de la puntadas, luego tejía 5 rondas normalmente y repetí el procedimiento hasta notar la curva el tejido, cuando obtuve la mitad de la longitud deseada introduje un alambre largo que introduciría más tarde por el cuerpo y terminaría en la cola, cuando tuve la longitud total hice las disminuciones correspondientes solo en las puntadas de arriba para que la curva se acentuara hacia abajo, rellené con fibra cerré el tejido con un punto deslizado escondiendo la hebra sobrante por dentro de la cabeza.
The process was longer than I thought, thanks to my experience I usually make pieces of that size in less time, but each new figure brings new challenges and learnings because I make my own patterns, so each stitch I give I do based on my own Drawing sketch that I am converting from a two-dimensional drawing to a three-dimensional creation thanks to the amigurumi weaving technique, in this Xenomorph it took 4 days of intense work.
To make the head I started by knitting a circle, then I continued knitting straight for about six rounds, to make the head form a curve I knitted half of the stitches taking the front side of the stitches while in the other half I knitted taking the back side of the stitches, then I wove 5 rounds normally and I repeated the procedure until I noticed the curve of the fabric, when I obtained half the desired length I inserted a long wire that I would later introduce through the body and end in the tail, when I had the full length I made the corresponding decreases only in the upper stitches so that the curve was accentuated downwards, I filled with fiber and closed the fabric with a slip stitch, hiding the excess thread inside the head.
Para el cuerpo comencé tejiendo un círculo y luego tejiendo recto hasta la altura de la cintura, hice algunas disminuciones solo en la mitad de las puntadas para lograr un abdomen abultado, posteriormente hice aumentos a los lados para lograr el ancho del torso, luego hice disminuciones para lograr la forma de los trapecios y por ultimo tejí el cuello.
For the body I started by knitting a circle and then knitting straight up to the waist, I made some decreases only in the middle of the stitches to achieve a bulging abdomen, then I did increases to the sides to achieve the width of the torso, then I did decreases to achieve the shape of the trapezoids and finally I knit the neck.
Para los pies comencé tejiendo los tres dedos por separado y luego lo uní y seguí tejiendo juntos haciendo las disminuciones necesarias para darle forma al pie, antes de llegar a final rellené con fibra y cerré con un punto deslizado escondiendo la hebra sobrante por dentro del pie, hice dos pies iguales.
For the feet I started by knitting the three toes separately and then I joined it and continued knitting together making the necessary decreases to shape the foot, before reaching the end I filled with fiber and closed with a slip stitch hiding the excess thread inside the foot , I made two equal feet.
Para la manos el procedimiento fue parecido al de los pies pero los dedos los hice más delgados, hice cinco dedos por mano, siendo el pulgar y el meñique más pequeños que el resto, para unirlos comencé por el meñique agregando los tres dedos centrales, después de una ronda uní el pulgar para que quedara situado más arriba que el resto, hice disminuciones hasta llegar a la muñeca.
For the hands the procedure was similar to the one for the feet but I made the fingers thinner, I made five fingers per hand, the thumb and little finger being smaller than the rest, to join them I started with the little finger adding the three central fingers, then In one round I joined the thumb so that it was located higher than the rest, I made decreases until I reached the wrist.
Era importante las piernas que no fueran totalmente rectas y que se notara que el pie se mantenía en punta con la rodilla flexionada y los músculos fueran prominentes, por eso en lugar de comenzar por un extremo comencé por la rodilla, para ello tejí un circulo que doblé sobre si mismo tomando la mitad de las puntadas para tejer del muslo hacia arriba haciendo los aumentos necesarios para formar el volumen muscular y la otra mitad de los puntadas los tomé para tejer la pantorrilla de manera similar al muslo pero más delgada, de ambos entremos dejé el tejido abierto para introducir el relleno. Hice dos piernas iguales.
It was important that the legs were not completely straight and that it was noticeable that the foot was kept pointed with the knee flexed and the muscles were prominent, so instead of starting at one end I started at the knee, for this I wove a circle that I doubled on itself taking half of the stitches to knit from the thigh up, making the necessary increases to form the muscle volume and the other half of the stitches I took to knit the calf in a similar way to the thigh but thinner, from both we enter I left the fabric open to introduce the padding. I made two equal legs.
Para los brazos el procedimiento fue similar al de las piernas. Comencé haciendo el codo tejiendo un circulo que al doblarlo me permitiera tomar la mitad de las puntadas para formar el bíceps, la diferencia es que continué tejiendo hacia arriba cerrando por completo para formar el hombro, mientras que en el antebrazo dejé el tejido abierto para rellenar posteriormente. Hice los dos brazos iguales.
For the arms the procedure was similar to that for the legs. I started making the elbow knitting a circle that when bending it allowed me to take half of the stitches to form the biceps, the difference is that I continued knitting upwards, closing completely to form the shoulder, while on the forearm I left the tissue open to fill later. I made two equal arms
Rellené con fibra los brazos y cosí las manos, del mismo modo cosí los pies a las piernas y las rellené con fibra.
I stuffed the arms with fiber and sewed the hands, in the same way I sewed the feet to the legs and filled them with fiber.
Cosí las piernas y los brazos al cuerpo, con el hilo rosado neón tejí los tubos que asemejan costillas y los tubos de la espalda, cosí la cabeza al cuello, introduciendo el cabo largo del alambre por dentro de torso y lo saqué por el trasero, el cabo pequeño del alambre sobresale por el cuello porque lo utilicé para fijar la lengua posteriormente.
I sewed the legs and arms to the body, with the neon pink thread I wove the tubes that resemble ribs and the tubes of the back, I sewed the head to the neck, inserting the long end of the wire inside the torso and took it out from the rear, the small end of the wire sticks out of the neck because I used it to fix the tongue later.
Para la mandíbula tejí un triangulo y luego continué recto hasta obtener la altura deseada, introduje el alambre por dentro de la mandíbula, rellené con fibra y la cosí a la parte de debajo de la cabeza, con hilo blanco bordé los dientes. Para la lengua tejí un círculo luego tejí algunas disminuciones y continué haciendo una forma tubular hasta obtener el largo deseado, rellené con un poco con fibra la cabeza de la lengua e introduje el alambre y cosí al fondo de la boca, bordé con hilo blanco los dientes de la lengua.
For the jaw, I wove a triangle and then continued straight until the desired height was obtained. I inserted the wire inside the jaw, filled it with fiber and sewed it to the underside of the head, with white thread I embroidered the teeth. For the tongue I wove a circle then I wove some decreases and continued making a tubular shape until the desired length was obtained, I stuffed the head of the tongue with a little fiber and introduced the wire and sewed at the bottom of the mouth, I embroidered with white thread the tongue teeth.
Para tejer la cola comencé tejiendo un cono de color rosado neón, cambié a hilo negro y tejí por 12 rondas sin aumentos, luego hacia un aumento y tejía por 12 rondas mas repitiendo este proceso 4 veces hasta obtener el largo deseado, posteriormente con el hilo rosado neón tejí todos los picos que asemejan vertebras de la cola, rellené con fibra, introduje el alambre y cosí la cola al trasero del Alien.
To knit the tail I started by knitting a neon pink cone, I changed to black yarn and knitted for 12 rounds without increases, then increased and knitted for 12 more rounds, repeating this process 4 times until the desired length was obtained, then with the yarn Neon pink I wove all the spikes that resemble vertebrae of the tail, filled with fiber, inserted the wire and sewed the tail to the rear of the Alien.
Con el hilo rosado neón tejí dos formas de óvalos alargados para los lados de la cabeza, con hilo negro bordé unas líneas sobre ellos y con hilo blanco tejí las uñas de los pies y bordé las uñas de las manos.
With the neon pink thread I wove two shapes of elongated ovals for the sides of the head, with black thread I embroidered lines on them and with white thread I wove the toenails and embroidered the fingernails.
Resultado / Result
Hacía bastante tiempo que no hacía un proyecto tan ambicioso y me siento completamente feliz con el resultado, incluso decidí posar para la foto imitando la cara de miedo de Sigourney Weaver en la icónica escena de la película cuando se le acerca la criatura, sin embargo no me salió muy bien porque no soy actriz jeje.
It had been a long time since I did such an ambitious project and I am completely happy with the result, I even decided to pose for the photo imitating the scared face of Sigourney Weaver in the iconic scene of the film when the creature is approached, however not It turned out very well because I am not an actress hehe.
