A Simple Design On How To Cut An A Line Gown

Good morning great minds, hope you all slept well? And welcome to another beautiful 🥰 weekend.
A mama came to me with this fabric and was like, my pikin sew anything good for me I don't have a particular style on mind, so I came up with this idea of making this simple A line gown for her.

And I'll be taking us through the process of how I made this using the baby lace, lining, zip, chalk, scissor, tape, tread, and my ruler.

First thing is to measure out your full length out of the fabric, fold it by two ensuring you have the size you want, then fold the other one also and place on the first one given an inch allowance for your zip, then you measure out your waist line coming down from the top by sixteen inches, burst line, your shoulder and your hand pit length by eight inches, and using your tape and chalk to trace out the shape before cutting.

Then you proceed to cut your hand, and this is how the hand looks like, I measure out the length by sixteen inches and separated it at the middle and trimmed the the down part and separating it at the middle.

Then you proceed to cut out your baby lace for the front by placing it on it and cut for the up.

Then you move to cut the other part of the lace by placing it on top of the fabric using your chalk and ruler to trace out the V curve shape at the down and cut out.

Now you cut out your lining for each part that is needed, and for the down part of the hand I also cut out baby lace for it, then proceed to fix your lining and this what you get.

This is the hand.

This is the back.

And now for the front part, you first sew your baby lace on the fabric on the shape u cut out after which u fix the lining and this is it.

Now you move to join everything together and fix your zip and this is what you will have, and your A line gown is ready.
