in NeedleWorkMonday5 months ago

Welcome to my blog and how are you all doing today, i hope everything is going well, i was till on practice, but today I decided to publish it, this is my first time posting in this community,i hope I'm welcome, today was for ruffles hat i nail it all, with the help of YouTube and my friends around me i Make it perfect, this is my first attempt hope i tried,
Below is the outcome of my work

MATERIALS USED

Black and white yarn
Scissors
Stich marker
kintting pin

Step-by-Step Instructions: Ruffle Bucket Hat

✅ STITCHES USED

ch = chain

hdc = half double crochet

sl st = slip stitch

inc = increase (2 hdc in same stitch)

🔹 Step 1: Start the Crown (Top Circle)

I started with ch 4
  1. Ch 4, then sl st into the first ch to form a ring.
  1. Ch 2 (counts as first hdc).
  1. Make 11 hdc into the ring. (12 hdc total including ch-2)
  1. Join with sl st to top of ch-2.

🔹 Step 2: Increase the Crown

Keep increasing evenly in a circle.

  1. Round 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each stitch around (24 sts). Sl st to join.
  2. Round 3: Ch 2, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next – repeat around. (36 sts)

  1. Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next – repeat. (48 sts)

  2. Continue increasing this way (add 1 hdc between increases each round) until the circle is about 6.5–7 inches wide or fits the crown of the head.

🔹 Step 3: Build the Hat Body (Straight Sides)

Once the crown fits, stop increasing.

  1. From here on, just hdc in each stitch around.

  1. Repeat this for 7–10 rounds, depending on how deep you want the hat. I used 10 rounds. Try it on as you go.

🔹 Step 4 The checkerboard style (optional)

I used alternating colors (colour black and white)in the down section just before just before the ruffle stitch

  1. Switch colors every after 1 Row.

  2. Use the carrying technique (carry the unused yarn along the row inside the stitches) or cut and weave ends.

🔹 Step 5: Ruffle Brim

This is what gives the hat its cute flair!

  1. Round 1 of Ruffle: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each stitch around – doubles the stitch count.

  1. Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next – repeat around.

🔹 Step 6: Finish

  1. Fasten off.
16.I use the yarn needle to weave in all ends securely.

Here is my ruffles Hat

💡 Notes:

The ruffles come from the increases. The more you increase, the wavier they become.

You can make the brim longer by adding more rounds even after the ruffle begins.

Blocking the hat can help shape it better if needed.

Beautifully made. The ruffles add such a unique touch to the hat design. Looks great on you too. Nice work
