Hello my dear readers, I hope you had a great Christmas vacations and that you had a great time with family or friends. As for me, I had a well-deserved vacation and rested a lot and I'm back with renewed batteries.
Today I want to share how I made a cushion with some scraps of fabric that my nephew, who works in a textile company, gave me, from the fabric scraps that he has left over, they throw them away and as my nephew knows about the things I do for the creation of this blog, he gave me the scraps of fabric, so I took advantage and made this comfortable cushion.
STEP BY STEP:
As I told you before, the fabric scraps I got as a gift were just long strips, as you can see in the picture, so what I did was to join them together and make my cushion.
The first thing I will do is to select the colors I will use and then as most of the strips are about 5 cm wide, I will take advantage of that width and only measure 12 cm and cut 4 equal pieces for each color I will use.
Once all the pieces are cut, I will choose in which position I want each color, and then I will start joining each piece.
Once I sewed each piece of fabric, as you can see in the pictures, I made four strips, which I will join 2 strips at a time in order to have two large squares.
Now that I have my squares made, I proceed to match them up, and then assemble the cushion.
After matching the pieces, I will sew all around it a strip of a single color, just to decorate the cushion.
After sewing the strip all the way around, I will pass a straight seam all the way around the edge of that strip. Do the same procedure with the other piece as well.
Now I will proceed to join the two pieces together and leave an opening so that I can stuff the cushion. After stuffing it with the cotton, with the help of a needle and thread, I will sew the opening trying not to let the seam show.
And now I have my cushion ready to use whenever I want. As you can see I made it quickly, with recycled material and without spending much. I hope you liked it and that you can make it too.

Hola mis queridos lectores, espero que hayan tenido unas excelentes vacaciones navideñas y que hayan disfrutado mucho en familia o con amigos. Por mi parte me di unas muy merecidas vacaciones y descansé bastante y he vuelto con las pilas renovadas.
Hoy quiero compartir como realice un cojín con unos retazos de tela que me regaló mi sobrino, que trabaja en una empresa textil, de los restos de tela que le sobran, ellos los botan y como mi sobrino sabe de las cosas que hago para la creación de este blog, me regaló los retazos de tela, así que aproveché e hice este cómodo cojín.
PASO A PASO:
Como ya les había comentado, los retazos de tela que me regalaron fueron puras tiras largas, como pueden apreciar en la imagen, así que lo que hice fue unirlas y armar mi cojín.
Lo primero que haré es seleccionar los colores que utilizaré y luego como las tiras la mayoría son como de 5 cm de ancho, aprovecharé ese ancho y solo mediré 12 cm y recortaré 4 retazos iguales por cada color que utilizaré.
Ya con todos los retazos cortados, escogeré en qué posición quiero cada color, para luego empezar a unir cada retazo.
Una vez que cosí cada retazo de tela, como pueden ver en las imágenes, realice cuatro tiras, las cuales uniré de a 2 tiras para así tener dos cuadrados grande.
Ahora que ya tengo mis cuadrados realizados, procedo a emparejarlos, para luego armar el cojín.
Después de emparejar las piezas, le coseré por todo el alrededor una tira de un solo color, solo para decorar el cojín.
Después de coser la tira por todo el alrededor, pasaré una costura recta por todo el borde de esa tira. Realice el mismo procedimiento con la otra pieza también.
Ahora procedo a unir las dos piezas y le dejaré una abertura para poder rellenar el cojín. Después de rellenarlo con el algodón, con la ayuda de una aguja e hilo, coseré la abertura tratando de que la costura no se vea.
Y ya tengo listo mi cojín listo para usarlo cuando lo desee. Como pueden ver lo realice de manera rápida, con material reciclado y sin gastar mucho. Espero que les haya gustado y que lo puedan realizar también.
