Have you ever sewed something as part of your products for sale and you see how nice it turned out and you want to wear it? Well I can't be the only person, I know. Let me tell you how this one happened!

Well, I make ready to wear streetwear clothing, and I've had more orders for shorts 🩳, so ive been making different designs in different colors. So yesterday I decided to make cargo shorts with plenty of pockets in it, two front pockets, two side pockets, a pair cargo pockets by the side and the pockets will be different sizes.

So with that in mind, I had this pink fabric I thought would be so perfect on it, so I decided to work with it.

With that I cut out the front piece and the back piece of the short, I used 21 inches lenght, Hip size 39...

Next I cut out the different shapes for the pockets and their cover, I had fun with this side, this was when I decided to cut out something I'll call ropes to attach to the pocket covers.

So I was getting the accessories ready, I sewed the rope, hemmed the pockets, and their covers, and I had everything ready first

First I put the side pockets for the front piece of the shorts.

Next I took the back piece and attached the back pocket.

Then I attached the front pockets with the cover.

And with that, I joined one part of the front piece to one side of the back piece, I did same for both. The I pinned in the cargo pocket properly.

This one can get really tricky, if it's not placed or pinned properly the two pockets might not be in unison, the pin might shift, cause inbalance. So I made sure to place them properly and I'm glad I achieved them.

Another thing that can help with placing this cargo pockets is to use chalk to mark or draw the point where the pocket will be, and also pin it on top of it, so that even if the power is shift, you still see the drawing and you follow the pattern.

So everything was placed, all the pockets were in place so it was time to sew the shorts together (coupling). So that's what I did and the short was almost ready, just the waist band remaining

So I attached the waist band with elastic and the remaining fabric.

This short was really charming after I ironed it, I loved it so much, everything just sitting well, and the color was superb so I decided to take this one for myself. Ok I convinced myself that wearing it will also serve as an advert for it and people will know that I can make something like this 🙃.
So this is me rocking the shorts and it looked really good on me, and people loved what they saw too

This type of short can take so much time than normal because it requires more work than the normal shorts, this one I took almost 3 hours to cut and sew plus some distractions. I'm happy it turned out nice.

Thank you all for your time here and I hope you all achieve whatever you wish for, I also hope to achieve mine too and that is one day have my own industrial machine, and then my own fashion shop. For now, we keep creating, and having fun! See you all next time 🫠
