Hola a todos, feliz lunes de aguja y feliz inicio de semana para todos(as) en @Needleworkmonday. Por lo regular hacer arreglos, ajustes o transformaciones a las prendas no es un trabajo sencillo; mi mamá fue costurera y no le gustaba hacer arreglos, ella decía que prefería hacer una prenda nueva desde cero que descoser y volver a coser. Creo que tengo la misma opinión aunque entiendo que estamos en una época donde no es opción desechar ropa así no más. También está el tema de qué tanto hay que descoser, que es la parte donde en lo particular más me tardo, ya que las costuras por lo regular están bien fijadas y halar no es opción porque podemos dañar la prenda y ahí sí tendríamos un problema.

Hello everyone, happy needlework Monday and happy start of the week for everyone at @Needleworkmonday. Usually making alterations, adjustments or transformations to garments is not an easy job; my mom was a seamstress and she didn't like to make alterations, she said she preferred to make a new garment from scratch than to unpick and sew again. I think I have the same opinion, although I understand that we are in an era where it is not an option to throw away clothes just like that. There is also the issue of how much to unpick, which is the part where in particular I take the longest, since the seams are usually well fixed and pulling is not an option because we can damage the garment and then we would have a problem.

Tengo una amiga que hace unos años hizo un corto curso de costura donde le indicaron cómo cortar y coser un pantalón con elástico en la cintura y bolsillos a los lados, pero no pudo terminar el curso y el pantalón quedó sin terminar. El detalle acá es que me muestra el pantalón y tenía 2 detalles a corregir, estaba muy grande de ancho y no tenía la pieza de la cintura cortada, ya que ella recuerda que la profesora le dijo que ya tenía los centímetros de costura para la cintura. Me tocó entonces dar forma y hacer que este pantalón le pudiera quedar, ella es de mi contextura más o menos así que agregando unos centímetros más a mi cadera y cintura, yo sería mi propio maquiní.

Lo primero fue evaluar qué parte debería descoser, así que como ya tenía los bolsillos colocados, los costados fueron descartados y procedí a descoser toda la entrepierna y los tiros delanteros y traseros. Quedando el pantalón en dos piezas separadas.

The first thing to do was to evaluate which part I should unpick, so as I already had the pockets in place, the sides were discarded and I proceeded to unpick the whole crotch and the front and back straps. This left the pants in two separate pieces.

Como estaba sumamente ancho marque según las medidas de mi amiga lo que debería eliminar en la parte de los tiros delanteros y traseros, así como también marque en las piernas los centímetros a quitar, corté y di una mejor forma, más adaptadas a las medidas reales de mi amiga. Cosí tiro delantero y toda la entrepierna.

As it was extremely wide, I marked according to my friend's measurements what I should eliminate in the front and back straps, as well as I marked on the legs the centimeters to remove, cut and gave a better shape, more adapted to my friend's real measurements. I sewed the front and the whole crotch.

La cintura fue otro detalle ya que según tenia los cm pero al medir no era así. Me fuí entonces a mis retazos y busque una tela en color y textura igual o parecido, encontré una y corté una pieza para la cintura la cual según el gustó de mi amiga tenía que ser lisa adelante porque así disimula mas su pancita jajaja y con elástico atrás.

The waist was another detail since I thought I had the cm but when I measured it was not so. I then went to my scraps and looked for a fabric in the same or similar color and texture, I found one and cut a piece for the waist which according to my friend's taste had to be smooth at the front because it conceals more her tummy hahaha and with elastic at the back.

Se me ocurrió colocar un poco de elástico en el ruedo para darle mejor forma al pantalón, así corté piezas en tela, le coloque elástico y las cosí al ruedo del pantalón, quedando tipo mono o joguer, más casual que deportivo.

It occurred to me to put some elastic in the hem to give the pants a better shape, so I cut pieces of fabric, put elastic and sewed them to the hem of the pants, leaving a jumpsuit or jogger type, more casual than sporty.

Terminé y puedo decir que el final en nada se parecía al inicial, ya que al principio era un simple pantalón con elástico y terminé creando un pantalón tipo joguer muy lindo y cómodo, que bien mi amiga puede usar para trabajar un viernes en que por lo regular vamos más relajados en vestuario o para ir de compras y estará muy bien presentable.

I finished and I can say that the end was nothing like the initial one, since at the beginning it was a simple pant with elastic and I ended up creating a very nice and comfortable jogger type pant, that my friend can wear to work on a Friday when we usually go more relaxed in wardrobe or to go shopping and she will be very well presentable.

Quedo muy bien la transformación la felicito amiga, comparto los pensamientos de su mamá 😊 también prefiero hacer piezas nuevas porque no me gusta desarmar las prendas a arreglar 😂, pero si toca lo hago , fue un proceso difícil pero valió la pena el resultado, gracias por compartir, feliz lunes 🤗
