Today I want to share with you an idea to fix our corner sheets so they don't easily slip off the mattress and avoid discomfort while we sleep. I also want to share with you the measurements and my method for making corner sheets. Come and I'll show you the step-by-step instructions:

Yo creo que a todos nos ha tocado alguna vez en la vida lidiar con una sábana que no se queda en el colchón, esto es bastante molesto sobre todo cuando estamos dormidos, en lo personal no me gusta quedar sin sábana en el colchón, esto también me sucedía mucho con las sabanas de mis hijos cuando estaban pequeños y es por esto que busqué una solución a este problema y hoy quiero compartirla con ustedes, también quiero compartirles mi método y las medidas para hacer sábanas esquineras para cualquier tamaño de colchón, aquí te dejo los materiales a utilizar :
- 1 Metro de elástico del grosor que desees por cada sábana
- tela de sabana
- hilo
- aguja o máquina de coser
- tijeras
- cinta métrica
I think that at some point in our lives we have all had to deal with a sheet that does not stay on the mattress, this is quite annoying especially when we are sleeping, personally I do not like to be left without a sheet on the mattress, this also happened to me a lot with my children's sheets when they were little and this is why I looked for a solution to this problem and today I want to share it with you, I also want to share my method and the measurements to make corner sheets for any mattress size, here are the materials to use:
- 1 meter of elastic of the thickness you want for each sheet
- bed sheet fabric
- thread
- needle or sewing machine
- scissors
- measuring tape

STEP BY STEP
Hay sábanas que son muy sedosas y así lleven engomado por toda la orilla, estas no se sostienen en nuestros colchones y a la hora de movernos mientras dormimos tienden a salirse, la solución para esto es conseguir un elástico preferiblemente de 2 a 3 cm de ancho, por cada sábana utilizaremos 1 m de elástico, cortaremos 4 tiras de elástico de 25 cm de largo cada una, con esta medida es suficiente para colocarle a cada esquina de nuestra sábana.
There are sheets that are very silky and even if they have rubber all around the edge, they do not hold on to our mattresses and when we move while sleeping they tend to come off. The solution to this is to get an elastic band preferably 2 to 3 cm wide. For each sheet we will use 1 m of elastic, we will cut 4 strips of elastic, each 25 cm long. This measurement is enough to place it on each corner of our sheet.

Luego vamos a medir desde la costura de la esquina 25 o 30 cm, allí colocaremos el elástico por el lado de adentro de la sábana y le pasamos costura puede ser a mano o a máquina, el mismo procedimiento lo hacemos al lado contrario de la esquina, con una tira de elástico le colocaremos a cada esquina de nuestra sábana, con esto lograremos que nuestras sábanas se fijen mucho mejor al colchón y no se salgan con facilidad
Then we will measure from the corner seam 25 or 30 cm, there we will place the elastic on the inside of the sheet and sew it, it can be by hand or machine, we do the same procedure on the opposite side of the corner, with a strip of elastic we will place it on each corner of our sheet, with this we will achieve that our sheets are fixed much better to the mattress and do not come off easily

MEDIDAS PARA HACER SÁBANAS ESQUINERAS
Measurements for making fitted sheets
Comenzaremos tomando las medidas de nuestro colchón, en mi caso las medidas son las siguientes :
Ancho: 1,40 m
Largó 1,90 m
Alto : 25 cm
Comenzaremos en una de las esquinas de nuestra tela, mi tela tiene un ancho de 2.10 m, esta medida sería ideal para cama individual pero voy a hacerla para mi colchón matrimonial, la parte más larga la dejaré para el largo de colchón, doblaremos la esquina de nuestra tela formando como una escuadra 📐 esta debe tener la medida de 30 cm por debajo y trazamos una línea hacia arriba justo donde nos dé 30 cm de alto.
Para la segunda esquina puedes marcar la medida de largo del colchón que en mi caso son 1,90 m o medirla directamente sobre tu colchón, marcamos con alfileres y pasamos costura, luego hacemos el mismo procedimiento para las 2 esquinas que quedan.
We will start by taking the measurements of our mattress, in my case the measurements are the following:
Width: 1.40m
Length 1.90 m
Height: 25 cmWe will start in one of the corners of our fabric, my fabric is 2.10 m wide, this measurement would be ideal for a single bed but I am going to make it for my double mattress, I will leave the longest part for the length of the mattress, we will fold the corner of our fabric forming a kind of square 📐 this should have the measurement of 30 cm below and we draw a line upwards just where it gives us 30 cm high.
For the second corner you can mark the length of the mattress which in my case is 1.90 m or measure it directly on your mattress, we mark with pins and sew, then we do the same procedure for the 2 remaining corners.

Luego de hacer todas las esquinas de nuestra sábanas vamos a hacerle el ruedo, les recomiendo colocarle elástico en las esquinas, tanto por dentro de la tela como por fuera, al igual que el procedimiento que expliqué anteriormente, igual podemos colocarle 25 a 30 cm en cada esquina, hay quienes acostumbran a colocarle elástico a todo el alrededor de la sábana, en lo personal no me gusta ya que me parece un gasto innecesario, prefiero colocarle elástico sólo en las esquinas, luego de esto ya tendremos lista nuestra sábana esquinera.
After making all the corners of our sheets we are going to make the hem, I recommend placing elastic in the corners, both inside the fabric and outside, just like the procedure I explained previously, we can also place 25 to 30 cm in each corner, there are those who are used to placing elastic all around the sheet, personally I do not like it since it seems like an unnecessary expense, I prefer to place elastic only in the corners, after this we will have our corner sheet ready.

Me gusta comprar la tela para hacer las sábanas esquineras ya que sale más económico, mayormente no utilizo mucho la otra sábana que traen los juegos y siempre termina guardadas en mi clóset y lo mejor de hacer nuestras sabanas es que quedan a nuestro gusto, espero les haya gustado estos tips, agradecida de antemano por visitar mi Publicación, me despido deseándoles muchos éxitos y bendiciones
