The Granny Square Bag In Green
The squares are so simple to make with popcorn flowerette (5-dc popcorn) in the middle.. The flower motif in popcorn stitches gives the bag that voluminous look. I use this bag to pair with my blue suede shoes. I would normally give my wallet and mobile phone in there, use it to run small errands like going to the supermarket and when I feel I need to go out in the mall window shopping. I wear a pair of jeans and white shirt plus the suede shoes when I go out with the bag, it just looks a bit classy with all the combination.
I was thinking on what to do with these green and white yarns which I hoarded some years back.... so I played with the yarn and created a granny square motif while watching TV.

When I had enough squares, I decided to make them into a bag. Putting the pieces together was easy, I just crocheted the edge with the other piece to form the body of the bag

I decided to crochet a different design in the middle with simple stitch and I think it made a difference to the bag´s appearance.
The lining chosen came from my stash of fabric and is in cotton. It has a lovely and dainty flower design that gives a feminine touch when the bag is opened.
The bag handles were from Manila,,,,bought when I visited my home country some years back. If you would make this bag, there are handles and closures available at the craft store or at those textile centers.
It was just a coincidence that the green suede shoes fitted the color of the yarn. I got this pair from a sale when I used to work in the city center. The yarns were discounted a couple of years after the shoes were bought, They (yarns) were offered at the supermarket at half its price and just got them without any particular project in mind.
I will post more of my crafts to give you some ideas if you do not know what project to do next. I will be delighted to answer any querries from you once you decide to do this.
I hope you all have a great start of the new week!

This richly textured crochet is lovely. Popcorn stitches are so cool, I love them especially on garments. Your bag looks really stylish and the wooden handle fits goos with the bright green. Thank you for sharing
