How are we all doing this afternoon, I feel so excited about this project I just made now. It's a beautiful recycle project that got me surprised at where this creativity would have stormed out from.
There is a way I often get this butterflies in my tummy most especially when I feel satisfied with the sewing projects I do. Am extra compliments from friends who appreciates my work is often a bonus dose of happiness for me.

Take a look at what I have just done

I transformed this pyjamas into a pretty mini skirt. Both are indoor wears alright?

I was gifted the pyjamas about a year ago and haven't worn it for once. I never liked it, the color was dull and not attractive and it was way bigger than my size. I have dumped they pyjamas ever since and never gave it a second thought until today

Rather than throwing it in the trash I thought about what to make of it and them boom this pretty skirt evolved.

I had first thought about sewing short with it, just cut it and reshape it to a smaller pyjamas of my size but that idea didn't appeal to me much hence I kept thinking about this over and over again.

I took out the piece and lay it in the floor here

Then gradually ideas starting popping out. Somethings these ideas doesn't often come whenever I an idle or doing nothing. But the moment I lay my hands and get started with work, then ideas begin to flow. I often get inspirations from fabrics, from environment and other times only when I set out to work.

First I measured out my head length hoping that I will sew a short skirt.

I cut off the crotch area of the pyjamas to be through away.

1000021764.jpg

Then I trimmed off the longer length of the pyjamas to a size I desired and the I joined all of them together go form a long piece

1000021772.jpg

After than I began to pleat the longer length to the first body of the skirt I had cut

This was what I got after making the pleats

1000021786.jpg

I felt that this was too plain and needed to add something to lighten up the pyjamas.

1000021792.jpg

The bias idea popped up but still I was bothered about which color to use wine or white. I settled for the off white after a deep thought.

Next I topped stitched the area where I had attached the pleats to the clothes.

Right after that I sewed in the bias on the line to conceal the joining and at the same time add some light to the skirt.

1000021798.jpg

I removed the rope of the pyjamas and replaced it with a white bias bow to differentiate the front and back of the skirt from each other.

That was done and my ugly pyjamas is now an attractive beautiful little mini skirt, what do you think of this process ?

I love this transformation you've done. You've given your pajamas a new lease on life, and this skirt looks beautiful on you. Your process is very creative. Congratulations.

This is such a creative transformation. The bias detail elevated the final look and the bow was perfect as well. Thanks for sharing this beautiful project.
