Hello Hive

Welcome to another beautiful new day and opportunity to live. I have learnt that it is important for us not to only exist but to live. Live a good life, pursue a career and do all of the things that makes us happy, even though these may come with come challenges we are encouraged go stull thrive against the odds of life.

Consistently I blog on this Blockchain and it is part of the things that makes me happy. It is either I am sharing with us some new craft I have learn or I am learning some whole new idea from another blogger.

Here is the creative sewing I have found myself engaged in during the late hours of the evening yesterday.
A dress, a skirt and blouse or what can I call this?

1000057900.jpg

I had wanted to sew a skirt and blouse for my sister who will be needing this outfit this weekend., cutting the and sewing it was quite easy and I did that before now but the upper part of this dress that would have been the top came with quite a bit of a challenge.

1000057951.jpg

First I was worried about the fabric type and design, you can't cut all fabrics in the same manner, some fabrics comes with some embedded manufactures designs on it such that if it isn't cut in the right direction, we would ultimately give the outfit a confused look

To cut the upper half length block
I was worried about this design on the fabric, should I make it vertical like this

1000057954.jpg

Or cut it in horizontal form like this

1000058304.jpg

How will either of the design appear on the final outfit, which presentation will be better. This is why it's a must to learn about fabrics and what presentation of fabric designs will give us the best final look on any outfit.

1000057966.jpg

In the end I chose the vertical presentation of the design after much deliberation. Here I had used a standard size 6-8 measurements to cut the front and back block.

The linings were also cut in similar fashion as the dress.

The next challenge lies with sewing the curves of a bustier blouse.

Bustier blouse are outfits sewn with consideration of the busy shape, with recent modern design and padding of bustier, women can easily wear these outfit without the discomfort of having to wear a brassiere underneath their clothes.

Sewing a bustier cup is a challenge until we master the act. You have to discover how to sew the shapes of different sizes of women's bust shape and cut and sew a fitted bustier that will contain the bust

1000058310.jpg

Here is a neatly sewn bustier cup. The fabric is puffed up forming a round shape cup that will contain the bust. Mind you, this is just fabric and lining.

1000057894.jpg

You have to learn to master the type of design cutting method to achieve this shape. A cup must not be smaller or larger than the bust size and shape we are working with.

1000057846.jpg

Sewing a bustier to form a cup like this requires the knowledge of different techniques on how to cut this. I learnt this over the years and with constant practice.

1000057840.jpg

And similar cutting method will be done for both the lining and the fabric which I did here.
I gave the necklines of the dress an extended design here while sewing it.

1000057849.jpg

Next I constantly retake each measurements to make sure that I don't under shape or over shape the fabric such that it will affect the outcome of the design.

1000057879.jpg

The shoulder busy and waist measurement are all intact.

1000057885.jpg

After much study about this fabric design and bustier skill I was able to couple a nicely fitted upper bodice block that fits perfectly with the skirt.

Having come this far with this outfit, I am left with the confusion of either go make this a skirt and blouse, purchase some satin fabrics for the sleeves as the fabrics is exhausted already. This is a beautiful outfit and the final finishing touches be topnotch as well. I love the outcome already.
