Hi, I'm myteenages and today, after a month without posting, I bring you this little project. It's a hippo amigurumi; it's not big enough to be a keychain, but it's not big enough to be a huggable stuffed animal either. I don't know what purpose it serves, I just know it makes me happy and I hope you like it too. 💕

I hadn't been here for a long time, I missed it, but many things are happening in my life, but above all in my mind, I don't know if it's the effect of turning 18, which by the way I did 2 months ago, but because of everything I couldn't find the motivation to knit, my creations didn't look pretty anymore and taking the needle was committing myself to a project I knew I was going to abandon very soon, it just didn't seem right at the time so I just walked away until I found this beautiful yarn in a store in my city, as soon as I touched how soft it was I could visualize all the beautiful projects I could make, the motivation came back, so I couldn't leave them on the shelf and I bought 2 different colors to try even though now I regret not wearing more.😅

Knitting with this yarn made me very happy. Feeling its softness run through my fingers as I knitted made me smile every now and then and once again I was enjoying something as beautiful as crochet. Even a circle caused me tenderness because of how fluffy it looked and knowing that it didn't have to be perfect, since no one but you and I had to see it, relaxed me a lot because during this time I did knit one or two orders, but the pressure of perfection, since I was selling them, was another factor that led me to give up knitting. In fact, I decided that for a while I'm not going to accept any more orders, jsjs, so I'm going to take the opportunity to experiment a little more in this practice and, obviously, all my attempts I'm going to publish them here. 😊

Now, talking about the project, the pattern is quite easy. The original idea is meant to be quite small and cute; when I knitted it with this yarn, obviously the final product was bigger even though I reduced the pattern by 1 stitch. I also noticed that this version, because of the fluffiness of the material, was less detailed, but still very tender. Of course, everyone I showed it to struggled to find what animal it was, jsjs. They even mistook it for a rat and I don't blame them, the truth is, from the top it does look sjsjs 😆, but I love my lady hipporat (I named it that way jsjs) and above all the liberating process of knitting it.

And that was it. This post was a bit different, as it was more about releasing thoughts than telling you about the project itself and I also changed a bit my way of writing. I guess changing is part of growing up; after all I am in myteenages but I like this change and I hope you think the same. And if you too have gone through a time of demotivation with knitting or creativity, I'd love to know what it was like for you and how you overcame it. I hope you liked this project and had some fun. ❤️ I wish you a nice life, goodbye!
