Goodday my beloved friends and family in the @needleworkmonday community, happy Needleworkmonday and happy blissful week to you all, how are tou all doing today, i hope everything going perfectly well, it a pleasure to meet you all again this week, and I'm here to share with you all on the step by step process on how I made a stunning one side off shoulder dress for my friend.

It's was my last work for the month of February and it was a bit tough for me because it's my first time trying a one side off shoulder dress, i strictly be we as a tailor and seamstress we all learned to sew by sewing because everday by day we have to experience a new style by sewing, well it came so late to me when my friend came with this Ankara fabric, telling me to sew for her that it is so urgent and it a traditional marriage uniform.

She said it wasn't intentional for her to bring the fabric late but the first batch finished before she rushed they and the second batch came late, it was okay by me because i know it will be an urgent work for me, so i only have a day to finish it and there was another work at hand then i had to drop the first one and attend to her urgently, so it was a kind of short free gown style without a slit at the back and she needed no linning on it and the style needs two side rose so I quickly spread out the fabric on the floor and started cutting.

Cutting and sewing process

I firstly pread the fabric on the floor by folding the it by two, i took her full length and subtract 6 inches for the off shoulder, then i took her shoulder measurements divided by two then her burst divided by two and her body divided by two, so i added 3 inches for sewing and the free allowance then i cut it out.

After cutting the front i fold the fabric by two again and I placed the front on it and i put in 1.5 inch for zipper allowance and i cut it out.

After cutting the both side out i now pread them on the floor and measure one side by using 5 inches to off the one side shoulder and i cut them out.

I went ahead and cut out the front and back turning linning then i used it and turned the both side out.

After that i went and put in the zip at the back.

I then joined the shoulder together and close the body.

I cut the fabric pieces and turned the off shoulder part hamhole then i joined the single hand trape.

After everything i just cut out 7 inches width and i took the whole yards length for the rose rap then i bend the hem and gave a hand gathers on it and i rap it properly.
