👋🏾Hello beautiful people of Hive! I’m finally joining in the NeedleWorkMonday work in progress challenge. I think it’s a marvellous idea to have people go along with you as you work on a project. They get to see how the project develops and how it arrives at the finished stage.
I didn’t think I could partake in the challenge because I didn’t have a WIP, until @crosheille let me know that we were allowed to present a new project so I could join in regardless. 💃🏽💃🏽
I’ll be working on a fit and flare dress with spaghetti straps. Here’s a sketch of what I have in mind.
And I’ll be using a stitch I haven’t used before in addition to the double crochet stitch or half-double crochet stitch. (I haven’t decided which yet.) That stitch is the Diamond Stitch. It comes out as a raised diamond-shaped pattern on the front surface of the work. It’s a really pretty stitch.
I discovered it on the internet. Later, I began to see works with the stitch. Then I got the idea to do this dress with it. It’ll be on the fitted bodice, while the flared part will have the second stitch — half—double crochet or double crochet.
I do not know how to crochet the Diamond stitch so the first step I’ll take will be to learn how to do it.
I haven’t also decided on a colour yet. Or maybe even colours. Let’s see how it goes.

A complete dress in crochet sounds very interesting. I am curious which kind of yarn you will choose, so that the dress will not get too heavy.

Diamond stitch sounds nice, I really don't know a lot about crotchet stitch patterns but I have a feeling this would be kind of complicated than the normal... Since I'm beginning to pick interest in crocheting, I would love to learn more patterns or even dress crocheting with time. Maybe you could be my coach 😀
