Como coser a mano es uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos, ya que me relaja muchísimo, tiendo a buscar algún hueco en mi ajetreado horario de mamá a tiempo completo para hacer cortos arreglos en la ropa. Me gusta hacer estos arreglos yo misma ya que arreglar el ruedo de un pantalón acá en España tiende a tener un valor de entre 5-8€. No me malinterpreten, es barato, la verdad. Pero cuando no se tiene un trabajo estable esos 5-8€ representan el costo de un paquete de pañales para mi bebé y mi esposo es el único sueldo que entra en casa y no escatimamos al ahorrar unos cuantos euros al mes.

Since hand sewing is one of my favorite hobbies, as it relaxes me so much, I tend to find some time in my busy full-time mom schedule to do short alterations on clothes. I like to do these alterations myself as fixing the hem of a trouser here in Spain tends to cost between 5-8€. Don't get me wrong, it's cheap, really. But when you don't have a steady job that 5-8€ represents the cost of a pack of diapers for my baby and my husband is the only income coming into the house and we don't skimp on saving a few euros a month.
Hice dos arreglos importantes a varias piezas de ropa. El primer arreglo lo realicé a un tripack de sostenes deportivos de la marca Lefties que compré en el BlackFriday el año pasado. Me costaron 2,99€ c/u, así que no es nada rentable pagar 5€ para el arreglo de cada uno. ¿Me entienden ahora? Me gustaron sus bonitos colores y sus tirantes anchos pero estos me quedaban muy largos, así que hice recorte y puntadas de costura con la técnica "punto atrás" que tanto me gusta hacer a la hora de realizar arreglos rápidos en mi ropa. Aunado a la costura, también le coloqué un bonito lazo de cinta de razo a cada uno. Dichas cintas las reciclo de las que traen la ropa que compro que se usan para colocarlas en ganchos de ropa. Bendita sea la hora que fui con buena disposición a mi clase de manualidades de sexto grado de primaria y mi maestra nos enseñó a coser con esta técnica. Uno de los mejores aprendizajes significativos de mi vida de valor invaluable que mantengo y practico desde ese momento.

El segundo arreglo a una de mis prendas de ropa lo terminé justo el día de hoy. Le agarré el ruedo a un pantalón de lino y algodón muy fluido de color rosa palo que había comprado en una de mis tiendas favoritas llamada "Primark" hace algún tiempo atrás, imagínense antes de quedar embarazada y mi bebé ya tiene casi 10 meses 🤭🙈 Pues me costó unos increíbles 5€ y me quedaba muy largo. Así que procedí a medir para dejarlo del largo que quería y realice el corte. Con la misma técnica de costura de punto atrás, le hice doble dobladillo y cosí todo el borde de manera muy prolija e uniforme. Quedó bastante bien su costura y me alegra por fin poder estrenarme mi bonito pantalón 💕😅
I finished the second alteration to one of my garments just today. I grabbed the hem of a very flowy linen and cotton pants in pale pink color that I had bought in one of my favorite stores called "Primark" some time ago, just imagine before I got pregnant and my baby is almost 10 months old 🤭🙈 It cost me an incredible 5€ and it was too long. So I proceeded to measure it to the length I wanted and made the cut. With the same technique of back stitching, I double hemmed it and sewed the whole edge very neatly and evenly. Creo que una de las cosas importantes que debemos aprender para nuestra vida adulta es a coser a mano porque nos puede sacar de muchos apuros y nos ayuda a ahorrar también. Claro está, no se obliga a nadie a aprender pero es como un buen tip para el manual no escrito de supervivencia de la vida adulta. Desde poner un simple botón a coser un pequeño agujero que se haya generado tras una rotura de hilos al probarnos una prenda, es justo y necesario. Coser es un gran ahorro ya que hacerse la ropa es menos costosa. Tamben el arreglo de ropa, es mas tedioso pero es necesario. Yo algo alguna scositas pero o soy experta en costura.

Claro, si uno tiene la habilidad y el tiempo para realizar estas tareas me parece mejor hacerlo uno mismo y ahorrarse ese dinero que aunque sea poco a uno le cuesta ganarlo. Recuerdo que la primera vez que aprendí a coser fue en un campamento y la segunda vez que intente coser unas medias por mi cuenta me cruce el dedo con la aguja jajaja.
