That it is great project... I am not a crocheter as you are... but I think you can make those rings doing i-cords... I don't know if it works, but is a thing I know how it is made... let me know if you get what I am talking about

Thank you @tahiaarq! Oh yes I know exactly what you are speaking of. Knitting i-cords is another way these are made. They actually look pretty awesome knitted. You can actually crochet i-cords too! 😍
